I just finished DMing the Forgotten Forge adventure and the the warforged at the end (I forgot his name...Saber?) took down the party (they all stabilized by using an action point) and stole the schema and the map. I even made the warforged 2nd level to make it a bit easier. I plan on running the other schema getting adventures (Shadows of the Last War and the Xen'drik one..I forgot that name too). How can I get the warforged and the schema piece involved in the Xen'drik adventure with Xulo? Do I have the LoB involved, along with the Emerald Claw, in Xen'rik hunting down the pattern? A seperate adventure into the Mournland to hunt down the schema? Some brainstorming ideas would be welcomed.

This is actually quite easy. The second adventure, Shadows of the Last War, kicks off with a warforged identical to Saber attacking the party at their meeting with Lady Elaydren, and the adventure even says to use Saber for this encounter if he survived the Forgotten Forge. So, simply run the encounter as written, except that Saber's motivations are different - instead of being there to recover the original schema and get revenge on the party, he's there to interrogate Lady Elaydren for information on the location of the second schema. Assuming the party take him down this time (which shouldn't be a problem - they're hopefully a level higher now, and fresh and uninjured), they recover the first schema from his body.

My characters had their way with Saber, in fact the only thing that proved a problem was the swarm. Everything else the killed quit easily and handily.

my players walked right around the rats. They had some serious trouble with the swarm, which killed one and took a couple others down in the negatives. They totally ignored the thing about "bring fire'.

Saber was pretty much a no contest for them. They didn't have trouble with him at all.

The Iron Defenders. They didn't even go into the forge. They tossed a light down, spotted something moving, and threw down enough light sources to give the doggies no where to hide, and then shot them like fish in a barrel.
