| Dauntless11-09-04, 10:58 PM | The party I am DMing will soon either embark or not embark on the quest I am expecting them to. If they choose not to, they will instead be asked to get involved further down the line, say 6 or 7 days later. However, if that happens, I need something to fill in the time in between. Here is the problem though: The group is only together because they were hired to work together for a previous job. They have no reason to stick together any more. Therefore, I need the side trek ideas to be hooked to one of the NPCs they met earlier in a previous session. The options: Hobgoblin Ambassador from Darguun to Aundair Aundair count who credits the party with saving his marraige (and his young evil wife who hates the party) Thuranni spy (who the party doesn't realize is a Thuranni spy!) under cover as a business woman House Orien (one of the PCs is a dragonmarked member of Orien) Requirements: -It must take place in Fairhaven, preferably in or around the city limits. -It must be acceptable for a paladin. |
| Endless_Helix11-10-04, 03:34 PM | look in the Steal this Hook Column for more idea. I'll leave the specifics up to you, but heres a story line that i'm working on right now. This would work best if you have any sort of character inclined to take vengence, AKA the Paladin. Have this vengeful character be subjected to some embarrassing degrading (not debilitating) curse or polymorph. In mine I had the Party Perv transformed into a woman. All the good aligned players will try to help to no avail, and all the evil one will point and snigger. However it should create an excellent metaplot to hold the party together. |

| Eben Duskblade11-10-04, 04:32 PM | Just some thoughts, --Have the count's wife (countess?) hire Thuranni assassins to kill the party --Have the Thuranni agent, send some local toughs after the party to get a feel for their capabilities for some future work --Have the Darguun ambassador invite them to a ball at the Darguun Consulate in Fairhaven, and have the Thuranni agent their in her cover identity either collecting intelligence or making a deal --Have the count turn up dead and have the count's wife accuse them of the murder. But who really dun it, the Thuranni agent under contract from some rival in town the Darguun ambassador's aide for some shady deal gone wrong, or whoever else My 2cp. -Eben |
