Has anyone developed any?

How do you use them: as PCs or NPCs?

Have you attached any other abilities to them (natural armor bonus, resistance bonus, weapon focus)?

I have a single Docent in my games, but it's a whopper. it is a plot device, and part of a rather nasty NPC. If I built Docents for my PCs, I would use the normal rules, and if I gave them any powers would use the straight normal magic item costs on top of their listed cost.

Equipped to an NPC...

Once the imbued essence of something akin to a sentient shield guardian from Daavni, the giant temple that this once-powerful Docent was in was destroyed in the Xen'drik cataclysm. Explorers found it and it has been sold to an artificer collector in the Black Caps.

Rendwar, Chaotic Evil Docent (Ego 12)
Once a guardian Docent, Rendwar was permanently damaged in the collapse of a Giant temple. While most artificers remain unaware, the Docent is insane, but thankfully weak willed and has yet to cause any true difficulties. It is currently embedded in Iron Skies, a large construct with a warforged personality.

Int 16, Wis 16, Cha 6
Known Docent Powers: Listen 10 ranks (+13) Spot 10 ranks (+13), Deathwatch Continuously, Detect Magic at will.

I forget who came up with it, but somewhere on these boards I heard an idea to make the Lord of Blades an artifact docent, kind of like Shira from Secrets of Xen'drik (and Gates of Night ...)

The idea basically goes that if a warforged implants this baby, it turns them into someone else, with the views and dogma that we have come to know and love from the LoBster. If this body is killed, of course, and a warforged finds it, they will try it out, and then it's too late.

I've wanted to use one in any of my games since I got Secrets of Xen'drik. Unfortunately, there are no warforged PCs right now, so I'll see about an NPC.

I am using them as plot devices, too.

My current troupe does not have a healer as they tromp through Xen'drik, pursued by a blackspawn raider/druid that is bent on the destruction of the infidels . . .

The stats are relatively low, but has the additional powers of lesser restoration 1/day, cure minor wounds 3/day, and cure moderate wounds 1/day.

I was trying to figure out how to keep them in the game, ya know?
