03-01-06, 08:18 AM Each time I got an good idea of adventure, even if I'm at work, at the gym, or to a friend party, I wrote it in my adventure hook book. Now that I will DM a Eberron campaing and since these Ideas are not oly for Eberron I need ton fluff them a bit.

So the introduction adventure begin when the adventurer are hire to investigate for a complete missing marchand caravan. So I tought this could be house Orien, am I right? Next, the first clue can come up from the surviving mercenary or protector of the caravan, the first thing to came to my mind it's house Deneith.

But can House orien caravan can have House deneith warrior for protection across the kingdom or does house orien have their own warrior?

The same question now come to me in many flavor, house Deneith warrior on a skyship of liranbar? or on the lightning rail?

Or maybe every house got their bodygard/warrior?

So please tell me how you see it or how you would manage this?

Thanks,

03-01-06, 08:35 AM At least since the War of the Mark, the Dragonmarked Houses have worked together, above all through the organisation called "the Twelve". While there are rivalries, they do work rather well together. Cannith helped to develop the Lightning Rail and the Airships (if I recall correctly) through the Twelve, for example.

I believe the Explorer's Guide also states that there are Deneith guards on the Orien Lightning Rail, and I don't see why they would not be available for caravans. They might even get them at a discount in return for ferrying items for Deneith for a cheaper price. One hand washes the other. It is in the interest of the houses to help one another out and at the same time exclude everybody else from breaking the monopolies of the houses.

So, depending on its importance and where it is going, an Orien caravan might have Deneith guards, a Tharashk guide, a Cannith artificer for repairs, a Vadalis veterinary and teamsters to look after the animals, and a Jorasco healer. Orien has guards of its own, but in most cases, the Deneith guard will be better trained.
