| calmstheshadow01-29-07, 08:01 PM | Im about to finish the second book of the trilogy, and the idea of the casting call for these books poped into my head. Ive seen plenty of Dreaming Dark castings, and I've wondered what the boards would think of this one. I dont have the entire cast down yet, but heres the main player's. Geth - My instinct is to go with Hugh Jackman, but thats just typecasting him after the X-men series. any better ideas? Singe - For acting talent, I'd go with Brad Pitt, for the look, Owen Wilson. Dandra - Penelope Cruz, exotic, can be both fragile and feisty (someone kill me for saying the word feisty) Robrand d'Deneith - Liam Neeson. again type casting, but hes nailed the older mentor roll over and over. Chain d'Tharashk - Vin Diesel. Period. Natrac - Ving Rhames, can play sophisticated and brutal Ashi - Keira Knightley nothing for Orshock, nor Dah'mir or Vennet. any thoughts? |
| Phooka01-30-07, 11:31 AM | Kiera Knightley for Ashi? No. She's too young and waifish to pull it off. At least how I picture Ashi. I'd say Lucy Lawless would be a better fit for her. |
| calmstheshadow01-30-07, 05:02 PM | I've always pictured her as younger. Early twenties, because they make mention of her being the daughter of the previous huntmaster, who was middle aged i beleive? Any other thoughts? |
| Phooka01-31-07, 10:09 AM | Dah'mir - Jeremy Irons, very good at playing a megalomaniac and he just plain sounds evil. Vennet - Paul Bettany would be a good fit And yes, in retrospect, Lawless is too old to play Ashi. Maggie Gyllenhal would make a better Ashi than Miss Knightley, whom I think would be better as Dandra. |
| Count Nerindil Van Seraph01-31-07, 01:33 PM | Dah'mir: Ideally? A younger Christopher Walken. Otherwise... (don't kill me) Tom Cruse? I think that he could do it. Vennet: Hmm... Jim Carey. You may laugh, but he is a great actor and could pull off the :looloo: pretty well. Andy Circus (Gollum) might work well, too. I think Johnny Depp could pull off either the two above. Geth: Hugh Jackman. Not just because of Wolverine, though. He's a great actor and, honestly, looks the part. Singe: If he could tun up the acting (and I think hecan), Owen Willson. Otherwise... Eh, really, anyone with any acting tallent. Honestly, Singe looked like Owen in my head. Dandra: Penelope Cruz all the way. Robrand d'Deneith: Liam Neeson works well. Again, in my head, that's who played him. Patric Stewart, maybe? Chain d'Tharashk: I think Vin Diesel would work well. Not to mention that I'd wager he would do it in a heartbeat. Michael Clark Duncan is a great actor for this part, too, but honestly, if he were to do anything in Eberron, I would rather it be the Lord of Blades! Natrac: Ving Rhames. We have a winner! Ashi: Keira Knightley? No way, man. Hmmm... just off the top of my head... Angelina Jolee (or however you spell he name...)? Requires more thought than te rest. Also: If there ever is a Eberron movie that features a Daelkyr, it needs to be played by Robin Williams. Think about it. The Count :dragon: |
| JayceMD02-01-07, 10:30 AM | Just to throw out someone other than Hugh Jackman to play Geth: Karl Urban, who played Eomer in the Rings trilogy. He's can pull off both the snarling, barely-restrained savagery and the wounded, haunted, running-from-his-past thing. |
| calmstheshadow02-01-07, 04:55 PM | Ya know . . . Tom Cruise. That's oddly perfect. . . .especially if he lets his age show a little (Collateral anyone?). Andy Circus is an awesome actor, but seems wrong somehow. maybe im looking for someone more pretty boy? I like Paul Bettany more. Anythong for poor underised Orshock? |
| Njord02-01-07, 06:06 PM | Geth: I like Jackman but to get some new names in the mix i will say Jim Caviezel Dandra: Kate Beckinsale Singe: Wes Bently (remember people can dye their hair) Chain: Adam Baldwin Ashi: Hillary Swank She looks great and can be brutal (Million Dollar Baby) Vennet: Jack Nicholson Dah'mir: Antonio Banderas (the Interview with a Vampire version) |
| calmstheshadow02-02-07, 04:17 PM | I havent seen Wes in anyrging since American Beauty, but im looking forward to Ghost Rider, so well see if hes still on his game. I think hed make a good Vennet, personally. Jack seems way to old for the part, but tha could just be me. And by the way .. . .Meryl Streep as Medala? |
| Phantomcrossing02-03-07, 02:40 AM | I dunno, I think for Ashi you'll need a big girl in height and muscular build, looking primal but keeping a strong woman sex appeal. |
