Dragon Disciples, Dragon Shamans in Eberron? [Archive] - Wizards Community

11-03-06, 05:43 AM Keith Baker has written an article on incorporating the PHB II (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ebee/20060911a) which includes Dragon Shamen.

You could also use it as a good way to incorporate Dragon Disciples.

11-03-06, 10:36 AM My first thought upon laying eyes on the Dragon Shaman class was literally, "Aha! Something to use with the Seren Barbarians!"

Clerics obviously don't work for the Serens, and Druids just don't seem to fit unless they are utterly disconnected from the Druidic sects of Khorvaire, so Dragon Shamans, IME, are the Serens' religious mojo-keepers. They aren't nearly as capable at healing and buffing as a true Cleric, but they have other benefits that the modern-day Barbarian finds mighty darn useful to have along in battle. :)

11-03-06, 10:59 AM Well, it's been noted that druidic traditions similar to the famous five/six in Khorvaire can spring up. Like the Shadows of the Forest in Breland.

Also, the Player's Guide to Eberron suggests Shugenja could exist amoung the Seren tribes.

11-03-06, 04:10 PM The Seren's seem like the likeliest place to find Dragonfire Adepts (dragon magic) too. Them barbarians really like their dragons.

As for Dragon Disciples, I think you can have them appear anywhere. Think of the transformation as the physical signs of the caster becoming more closely tied to the draconic prophecy and draconic origins of magic.

Similarly, the draconic heritage feats (while almostly certainly not from actual draconic ancestors in Eberron, barring the line of Vol) can be a physical transformation brought on by the character's firm belief and admiration for dragon kind. The Dragontouched feat even has similar text.
