| DMDaddy04-14-06, 03:00 PM | I'm starting a second campaign (Eberron Alternative) for a group of young players. They like hacknslash with little roleplay. -rapid level progression -32 point buy -High magic items +2 to +4 above characters levels This campaign will explore the history of the Dragons. From what I'm reading, the Dragons may have had a hand in the creation of Eberron. They are worshipped by the Seren barbarians. Great Dragon monolith/statues But great cities of the Dragons, is their any more details? I'm thinking about creating several abandoned dragon cities with giant doors, rooms, etc...A massive teleportation system connected through the underdark, Kyber. In the underdark, many lost and hidden dragon cities exist. The dragons thrived in harmony until 1/3 tried to take control. A great war errupted which included the Giants. Destruction resulted and the evil dragons were entrapped in the underworld by powerful magic. The players will explore this past. However, one of the entrapped Dragons has found a way to manipulate the world above and is manipulating the PCs through various NPCs. After collecting various items for NPCs and uncovering ancient secrets, the players will discover that these items are parts to creating a magical device that will free this one dragon. However, around level 20, it will be too late. Because their understanding will only occur when they have freed the dragon who will immedeatly try to kill the characters. Part of what will make this 'feel' like Eberron will be the constant betrayel of NPC patrons who backstab the PCs. Of course, it's the trapped dragon bellow who's pulling the strings. |
| DMDaddy04-15-06, 02:09 AM | Bump. Is it me, or is the discussion about "Dragons in Eberron" a mute point? I can understand that dragons are rare and usually remain in the background, but, come on, there's got to be more? Maybe there's other Eberron books that reference them? Does anyone have anything to say about Dragons in Eberron? I'll highlight my questions in my prior post in case you couldn't read between the lines. This campaign will explore the history of the Dragons. From what I'm reading, ??the Dragons may have had a hand in the creation of Eberron??. But great cities of the Dragons, is their any more details? |

Siberys created the dragons Khyber created the fiends and Eberron create all other forms of life. But there was no golden age of dragons ruling the world in peace and only cities in Khyber are those of the fiends. there might be other progenitor wyrms other than the big three, but they would be what we would call gods, creatures so much above any mortal that they cannot be understood or imagined by mere un-epic mortal (and probably not by epic ones either), and while there could be a trapped ragon in Khyber (read Q'barra section of ECS) he/she would be an exception, the dragons are free and active in the world. an going back to the cities, dragons don't need cities, they might have places where they gather to dicuss things (page 254 in ECS) but they would not need to group together for protection and survival like the lesser beings |

Haka'torvak in Q'Barra makes a good place to go looking - large variety of foes, capped with a near-epic level black dragon who rules the city. |
| Grey_Mage04-16-06, 07:43 PM | Not to mention some of the Islands in the Lhazaar Principalities... one of wich is specificly mentioned as being uninhabited and yet heavily gaurded. Id look around there for artifacts from the dragon age as well as the Eldeen Reaches *where a dragon taught the druids millenia ago* Xen'Dric *Where the Dragons taught the Giants even earlier* And Seren *where the barbarians worship them*. |
