| Talon Stormwarden06-25-05, 02:05 AM | Least Dragonmark says caster level is 1 + level in Dragonmark Heir if any. However, anyone with at least 1 level in Dragonmark Heir has Lesser Dragonmark as a class feature, which then bumps the caster level of all Dragonmark abilities to 6 + Dragonmark Heir levels. So anyone who has only a Least Dragonmark has a caster level of 1, period, the rest of the sentence about caster level is irrelevant. Or am I missing something? |

By the RAW Least Dragonmark has a caster level of 1 + Dragonmark Heir levels if applicable. So without the prestige class you get a cast level of 1. |

So without the prestige class you get a cast level of 1. Unless you take the Lesser Dragonmark Feat which means all your dragonmark spell abilities increase to caster level 6. I think the problem he is refering to is that, if you have the Least Feat and 1 level of dragonmark heir then the feat says your caster level is 2, but the class also gives you the Lesser Dragonmark feat, which means your caster level is 7. |
| Talon Stormwarden06-26-05, 02:07 AM | My point is that the sentence in the Least Dragonmark feat that reads Your caster level for your least dragonmark spell-like ability is 1 + your level in the dragonmark heir prestige class (if any). would be clearer if it simply said Your caster level for your least dragonmark spell-like ability is 1. Sure there are other things that can modify the level, but the second half of the sentence is never true because once you have any levels in dragonmark heir your caster level becomes 6 + your dragonmark heir level. Unless you have 0 levels, in which case it's true, but unneccesary and clearer if omitted. Not a huge deal anyway, but I wanted to make sure I wasn't missing some nuance of the rules that made the 2nd half of the sentence make sense. |
| PsionicMonk06-27-05, 02:45 AM | I think they should change it to something like, caster lvl = 1 + either half your level or your level just my 2 cents |
| Naudachu06-27-05, 07:30 PM | I don't have the ECS in front of me, but is it possible that it means a Dragonmark Heir 1 uses the Least Dragonmark abilities as caster level 2 and the Lesser Dragonmark abilities as caster level 7? |

Nope. When you gain Lesser Dragonmark, it increases the caster level for all of your dragonmark spell-like abilities to 6 + Dragonmark Heir levels. Greater Dragonmark increases the caster level for all abilities to 10 + DH levels. |
