Ok...so who hid the Dragonmarked art gallery? Surely it should be making an appearance soon, or is it under lock and key somewhere? Consider this an informal plea for the Inquisitives amongst us to get to work... ;)

And while they're at it, maybe they could find our missing Dragonshard and Eberron Expanded articles too. :waits:

Honestly, I'm not sure what's up with that. I've been holding off writing more until they start going up again, but they've got a few in hand awaiting release.

I've tried asking the WizOs. No reply.

They are probably just waiting for the crappy Expeditionary Dispatch and Clockwork Wonders articles to run their course. They paid for them, it wouldn't do to overshadow them with something a hundred times better.

Steal This Hook! keeps getting worse and worse. Perhaps they can drop that in favor of giving us back our Dragonshards.

I tend to use the pics in the various art galleries as gaming aids for my players, helping them visualise NPCs and various scenes; there's some great art in Dragonmarked which I could certainly put to some good use, just uploading the pic to the monitor for all to see as the game scene plays out. Does anyone else use the art galleries this way?
As to the Dragonshards, it'd be really good to see them back as well.

I do the same thing. I find it really does help flesh things out.

I just want to have the pictures of the new enhanced Aberrant Marks for hand outs.

I have an upcoming story line where I give one my players a "free" feat and he develops an Aberrant Mark.

Of course the DM never really gives anything away for free and being a chosen of Tharkannan is not always a good thing.

I love Eberron art but overall I felt Dragonmarked was a little weak.

The NPC portraits are hit and miss, not that they're bad, they just don't seem to sit well in the Eberron Style (which generally takes its nods from Wayne Reynolds crisp vibrant cover art). Most of the NPC are muted and I dunno impressionistic, they're not crisp, I don't have an art background so I'm not sure if I'm phrasing my criticism correctly. These portraits aren't bad just not the style I've come to associate with Eberron. Though some, the Tharashk ones particularly, do pop and have the Eberron 'style'.

The halfling in the "During the last war" Jorasco picture looks more like a pudgy middle earth hobbit than a D&D Halfling, though the corpse collectors do look pretty sweet.

Of course a lot of the art is the style and quality we've come to expect from Eberron. Lei and Peirce before the Twelve, the Ghorad'din strike team, the trap warden, the Aberrant last stand chapter head of chapter 4 are particularly excellent.

Though I do have to say that I've never had a fear of clowns... but the Phiarlan Shadow Carnival picture is about the angriest picture of carnival folk I've ever seen. THEY scare me.

Lei and Peirce before the Twelve
Oh... I can't say I like that. This may be really minor in itself, but I don't like the precedent set by having novel characters appear in the gaming books. It seems pointless at best, and a small first step towards FR Syndrom at worst (first symptom: novels become canon).

This is also why I have reservations about the otherwise appealing idea of a second series featuring the Dreaming Dark characters. No matter how obvious it is to us, we can't assume WotC will have the sense to keep them far away from the gaming supplements if they become really popular.

I am looking at the Dragonmarked mural here:
http://www.wizards.com/dnd/images/dx1012iw_DragonmarkedSpread.jpg

Can anyone give me some help or conjecture on who has what mark?

I guesses from left to right
1. Mark of Handling
2. Mark of the Sentinel
3. Mark of Passage
4. Mark of Storm
5. Mark of Finding
6. Mark of Warding
7. Mark of Shadow
8. Mark of Detection
9. Mark of Scribing
10. Mark of Hospitality / Mark of Healing
11. (Warforged) Mark of Making?

By my count, there are two missing and an extra warforged.
There also seems to be an excess of elves / half-elves. Of course, I am making an assumption that all of the houses are represented here.

Of course, I am making an assumption that all of the houses are represented here. Then you may be making an ass out of u and mption. Though it would have been a pretty reasonable thing to expect.

In my own mind, the lightning-shrouded woman may be appearing after using dimension leap. I'd have to check the ears in my copy to be sure though.

I always kind of enjoy going through the on-line art gallery for a book and seeing what was cut out. After reviewing the gallery for Dragonmarked, I was a little non-plussed. It looks like two prestige classes were cut (Child of Khyber and the Unmarked). I personally would have liked an Aberrant Prestige class (although I like Save Vs DM, though I think it should be updated now). I mean, did House Cannith really need another Prestige Class more than Tarkanan needed a first? And then to cut the Tarkanan Crest as well? I did like Dragonmarked, but I also thought the Aberrants were not shown enough love. Judging by the delted art, apparently they had some love, but it was taken away:(

Yeah, the slavish devotion to the page # limit of 160 is getting annoying. Let your cup runneth over, Wizards, it's annoying to fit a round peg in a square hole.

Any word, keith, on whether you put these prestige classes in a Dragonshard? I'd love to see either; the Unmarked intrigued me. Something on that more powerful, heir-oh-siberys-(khyber?)-like aberrant mark that was cut from the other three would be fantastic too.

A web enhancement would be awesome too. I agree that we have enough cannith prestige classes, and Lyrander ones, except that the Cannith scout was better than any of the other cannith prestige classes.

I just want to know more about that heir of Khyber mark

Honestly, I don't know what's going on with the Dragonshards. There's a few articles that have been lying in wait for a while, and I'm not sure why they've been delayed. I'll poke the web staff and see if I can get an answer.

As a side note, the character in the Child of Khyber picture is supposed to be Rotting Bal, who also appears in City of Towers.

I noticed thay have an ABERRANT SYBERIS MARK in addition to the two missing prestige classes in the art gallery. Will it ever make print (in a future release or in an online article)?

Perhaps that CHILD OF KHYBER prestige class is the aberrant's version of the HEIR OF SYBEROUS?

Nope. Child of Khyber is more analagous to the Dragonmarked Heir. Dragonmarked introduces Lesser and Greater Aberrant Dragonmarks, reflecting the growing power of aberrant marks, but by official material, Siberys (well, Khyber) level aberrant dragonmarks still haven't been seen since the War of the Mark.

Well, I saw the gallery today. The spells dragonmark whip and living dragonmark, or whatever they were called, look awesome! It's inspired me to maybe play a dragonmarked spellcaster next time. It would be especially neat if the spell's function depends on what dragonmark you have. Now just one question: are the spells any good? If they are, it's all the reason I need to buy the book. Though other stuff looks good too.

So, will we see the Prestige Classes in Web Enhancements, Dragonshards or their own book (high unlikely considering that the art is already printed). Will they be part of a new campaign arc?
