Dragonmarked Races [Archive] - Wizards Community

I'm getting ready to run the 4 modules out for Eberron and as a side story-arc I want to incorporate the Draconic Prophecy and one of my players manifesting an abberant dragonmark. The problem is only 1 character - a relative newbie still learning the ropes is the only player using a dragonmarked race. Using the pretty much wide open interpretation of the Draconic Prophecy any thoughts/ideas on having a Shifter manifest a dragonmark? Thanks!

The houses are going to panic especially if this guy is showing it off, the dragons are going to fragment some for some against, some of the members of the church of the Silver Flame if they find out about it may decide to start the purge up again.

not to mention a 14th dragonmark would attract a lot of attention from a lot of people

Well, the rules wrangler in me feels compelled to say that Shifters can't have Dragonmarks, by the rules. There, I said it, it's out of the way, and we can ignore it. ;)

At one point, more as an intellectual exercise than something created for actual use, started working on Dragonmarks for the four new races in Eberron. Kalashtar got the Mark of Soothsaying (precognitive stuff), Warforged got the Mark of Battle (duh), Changelings got the Mark of Disguise, and Shifters got the Mark of ... I never came up with a name, but it was various 'animal-ish' powers like Magic Fang and spells of that ilk. It was a very incomplete project, so I'm not sure how much help that is.

If all else fails, Aberrant dragonmarks would probably work fine.

09-07-05, 06:53 AM As above, the ruleslawyer in me screams at the notion of giving Shifters dragonmarks.

The "what the heck" side thinks that the Mark of Handling would be fairly appropriate for Shifters, althogh I'd tend to think that they'd use the mark to commune with their fellow critters in nature, rather than use the mark for commercial purposes.
