I might have missed something but I can't find any impact to a Dragonmark if the bearer of the Mark becomes Undead (ex vampire)

Is there anything "official" regarding that?

Just brainstrorming now ... what are some idea's of how the combination of the 2 magica states would effect one another?

dragons marks stop working after death. Vol herself has the mark of Death but its powers stopped working when she died and became a lich.

D'oh !
<smacks head>

I knew in the back of my mind that I was missing something obvious.

Thanks Setherial.

For the npc that my players will be facing (hopefully not trying to fight) I want to create some interesting variant on a House Deneith / Undead / Karrnath Warlord character. Any suggestions?

Undead have no rights and thus cannot be active warlords.

1) Active
A House Deneith foundling who wanted nothing to do with his ancestral House of Mercenaries, Darrtel found his calling as a noble knight of Karrnath. Following the events at the Battle of Heartfelt Ridge, Darrtel lost sight of his noble goals and dedicated himself to the spirit of Karrnath as a Bone Knight. At the schism between King Kaius and the Emerald Claw, Sir Darrtel fought on the side of his King. Sir Darrtel became Warlord darrtel upon defeating the previous occupant of the title on the battlefield in one-on-one combat.

2) Inactive
Take the above, add deathknight. :D

Same thing happens if character gets reincarnated into another race not compatible with their mark (let alone another type creature). They no longer qualify for the dragonmark as those are race-restricted so they can't use it any more.

Same deal with undead, not only are they not of any allowed race for the marks but they're not even humanoid type but undead type creatures so they wouldn't be able to use the dragonmarks they might have had in life.
