| Uller99909-28-05, 11:55 AM | This only meant to be a quick question really...I know they cut dragonshard production down to one every two weeks and that's fine I mean I woulnd't mind having one a day but that might drive certain authors to insanity and we wouldn't want that but what happened to the dragonshard after the riedra part 2 one? I mean if it becomes a difference of dragonshards versus Eberron explained or whatever than I vote dragonshards. |

| Tek09-28-05, 06:16 PM | You just about killed me because you didn't give me a chance to breathe while I was reading your sentences and I really feared for my life because you need to start putting periods inbetween your sentences. |
| Uller99909-28-05, 07:09 PM | Cheers for the information. By the way since someone else decided to start it, I don't want or need grammatical corrections, especially if you understood what I said. I don't have time to go over my posts constatnly to make them typo free. If you understood the post than you obviously don't need to complain otherwise for future reference (as I'll mention this when it comes up) I don't care. Thanks |
| Edymnion09-28-05, 07:17 PM | I don't have time to go over my postsWell, not to be rude, but in that case I don't have the time to read your posts. People around here will treat you based on how you communicate (because that is all we have to go on). If your posts look like you don't care about what you're saying, than most people around here won't care about what you're saying either, and will simply dismiss anything you say. I'm sure you don't want that, or you wouldn't be posting in the first place, but it is something you should know up front. If you don't put at least half a thought into what you post, no one else is going to look twice at what you type. Long story short, no one expects every post you make to be perfect. But we do expect you, ourselves, and everybody else to at least TRY to make their posts readable and understandable. I personally try to re-read everything I post to make sure there isn't anything glaringly wrong with it. Doesn't always work, but at least I try. |
| Straylight09-28-05, 07:18 PM | EDIT: And Edy beat me to it, as usual. Cheers! |

I personally try to re-read everything I post to make sure there isn't anything glaringly wrong with it. Doesn't always work, but at least I try. That may be the case and I understand your position. I understand also that by and large the majority of the people on forums especially those related to gaming are what I would consider overly-pedantic when it comes to issues of grammar. People like to pounce on people when they screw up, its understandable. People on the forums here and elsewhere like to take things out of context as well which is equally annoying. My main point was that grammatical mistakes are not nearly as important as content, therefore if you can understand the content of the post than the grammar is not important. I stand by that. If you choose not to read my posts becasue you cannot understand them, that makes perfect sense. If you choose to not to read my posts because I don't double check them and run them through spell check well frankly I think that's petty. I appreciate that this is a forum and therefore things like context and tone are severley limited when compared to face-to-face communication but again I don't honestly believe that somebody decided to correct me because they couldn't understand which is why I said what I did. furthermore the person in question didn't offer anything substanitive or relevant to my question. So really why should I take his comment into consideration as anything more than a random cirticizm. Or yours for that matter. Also as a side note, I have seen a number of grammatically derisive posts aimed at people who state their locations as being in countries where language is not the primary spoken tongue. I just think its petty. To be fair my end view is this (for those of you who haven't tuned out due to bad grammar  ) this an internet forum, not a paper for class, not a discertation, not an office memo, not anything where my direct reputation is attached. So cut people some slack, myself included. |

You don't need your grammar to be perfect, you just need enough spaces, commas, and periods to make your post readable. Don't be an ******* about it. You see, grammar is good! |

Right cause my post was that incoherent. Thank you for yet another falacious argument. I'll consider your post for all intents and purposes worthless. Cheers Also again with this forum all I wanted was a single piece of information. That information was apparently garnered despite my apparent grammatical problems. Strange that, I guess the person who answered the question didn't have enough problems with the grammar to posit a correction. |

| Uller99909-28-05, 11:01 PM | i'm not the one who jumped on a forum and decided to start questioning people's posts who I had nothing to do with nor did I get on and start calling people names. I appreciate that you can't respond to anything I said, perhaps its because you can't understand which is fine. I'm not to concerned. Cheers |
| MysticTheurge09-28-05, 11:09 PM | For the record, I probably like bad grammar less than most of the people here, I just gave up on trying to convince ignorant/lazy (your choice) people to write well a long time ago. Also, I didn't really read your post, the answer you needed was pretty obvious from the thread title. And, since this is the eighth or ninth time (roughly) someone's asked this question this week, so I had the answer handy. |
| Uller99909-28-05, 11:14 PM | thanks theurge. I admittedly am lazy when it comes to things like this, and yet you still answered my question. For that I am greatly appreciative, enough so to do the same for you if the situation was reversed. Cheers |
| Tek09-28-05, 11:22 PM | I respect that you don't really care what your posts look like - I simply don't answer people who I don't want to, and grammar errors like this usually make me simply ignore the post in general. I only posted as a slight jab that wasn't to really taken seriously, because I doubt one post from me is going to make you change your internet manners. And it's not like threatening to not answer is really that effective anyways, because someone always will answer, usually. Definetly if the question is simple. So, yeah. |
| GuruChaz09-29-05, 12:36 AM | You made the first jab and started the snit though. /shrug |
| Tek09-29-05, 01:40 AM | Yep. One that wouldn't have happened if you had typed better. Type like that and you might not care, but you're still going to get people like us telling you we don't like it. |
