Okay, I was re-working the Dungeon Adventure from #124, Temple of the Scorpion God, to fit into my campaign so I could run it tonight. I have seven level 6 PC's instead of four level 7 PC's, so it needed a little tweaking, plus the usual story adjustments to make it fit the campaign. Anyways, when I was re-working the Drow, I got to thinking. Would Eberron Drow typically be warriors and other NPC classes? Or would they be an exception to the rule like warforged and valenar, and primarily be PC classes, and if so, what class? Barbarians? Rangers? Fighters? And what level would you make the typical drow? Would they follow the usual low-level distribution of Eberron, or would they again be more like warforged, or more to the point, valenar? Because I just can't see any level 1, PC class or NPC class, surviving in Xen'drik, even with the drow spell like ability. Afterall, these guys are supposed to be the ultimate hunters and survivors, twisted by giant magic and thousands of years of brutal darwinian evolution into normal elves into the drow sub-type. I mean, the first time a tribe of drow (composed of primarily level 1 guys) blunders on the stealth rolls and has to fight a single troll or ettin, let alone a "real" giant, then they'd be dropping 2 or 3 a round. --- So basically, after typing all this out, I came to the conclusion that the typical Drow hunter, who has survived the wilds of Xen'drik and Khyber, should come in at around the power level of the average Valenar, taking the level adjustment into account. So a drow Ranger 4 would be pretty much average. What do you guys think? Do drow break the usual Eberron low level distribution and PC/NPC class ratios, at least in your campaigns? PS: I would of posted this on the AKB thread, but since Keith said he'd be on the road for the better part of this week, I figured I'd just post it on the general forum, and then I'd post our conclusions later on on the AKB thread and see what he thinks. Oh, and the obligatory "Search wasn't working, so if this has been asked before, sorry"
