I am trying to come up with a build for a character which will eventually take the Cyre Scout PC. My question is coming up with concepts for certain classes within House Cannith i.e. a Cleric (The Traveler), Druid, or Ranger. I think that the cleric concept is relatively easy since some members of Cannith South do revere The Traveler in the aspect of artifice but a Druid/Ranger of House Cannith is hard to imagine. Any ideas how one would come to be? Thanks.

Or, perhaps, someone seeking to create items in harmony with nature, hoping for greater power and/or to avoid the arcane danger the Ashbound expound.

The easiest way possible? A character from rural Cyre. Cyre was Cannith's home base, and it stands to reason that some of the Outposts to Cannith were in some little town in the middle of nowhere, and the local Enclave was pretty much the source (or a great assistance) to the local economy. It could've been a trade depo, with all the wilderness types in the area, and yet the community was more in line with the druids of the area than the mainline Cyrian mindset. Cyre is smack dab in the middle of Thrane, Karrnath, Talenta, Valenar, Breland and Draguun - your rural community could be close to fringe area in these places.

However, if you want something a little more elaborate:

Druids, I think, are less likely to create scrolls, so artificers are sort've out of touch if they want to make items that use Druid spell lists. After all, someone has to make Amulets of Natural Armor and such.

So it would make sense if Cannith decided "We need to get some nature loving people who like us, and are willing to create items for us." So Cannith pouring some resources to prop up some areas in say, the Eldeen or Aundair, or perhaps coming to the defense of a small sect of druids trying to protect a Sacred Site from (insert threat) would definitely help them out in that regard.

So you have an outpost out there in the wilderness that holds allegiance or support for House Cannith, and Cannith would do its part to attract druids and other woodsy types.

Actually, its very easy to do a Cannith Ranger post-war.
One of the big things Cannith South is doing is explore Xen'Drik looking for new magics they can claim for themselves. They also do Mournland runs. So just have your ranger be one of the Cannith trained "explorers", specializing in the discovery and retrieval of magical items for House Cannith. That involves a lot of digging through the wilderness, hence the Ranger levels. You could also be a sort of experimental testbed, field testing new gear that the Artificers come up with to see if they're any good or not. Which could be cool, if you could convince your DM to let you have a flexible approach to character wealth. As in, you have X gp worth of gear, but what that gear is changes from adventure to adventure as you return the last batch of test stuff and pick up a new one.

The easiest way possible?

All you wrote is fine Rechan; but the easiest way possible? I think not. The easiest way is to create any ranger or druid human you want and then go "Oh look I've got a dragonmark how did that happen?!" ;) Foundling will always be the laziest way to explain any unusual combination of house and job.

Yeah well, I saw Cyrian Scout, so I assumed that some sort of connection to Cyre would suit. :P

Thanks for the input everyone. I am especially keen to the foundling idea and the idea Edy had, but more importantly my ‘brain gears’ are turning and I have some good ideas now. Thanks again!

Maybe your character at some point had an epiphany (perhaps he/she was saved by a druid), and now works to make House Cannith more environmentally friendly.
