| donlazy06-19-05, 09:30 PM | I've got the Eberron fever- bad. I need more and more material to read. I have a question for those lucky people who have subscriptions Dungeon magazine. I am trying to collect all the issues that have Eberron adventures in them. I have the one with "The Queen with the Burning Eyes" and one more I cannot find. If anyone has a record, can look this up, or knows of a place to find out, I would be greatful. -donlazy |
| Christer Romson06-20-05, 04:23 AM | I am trying to collect all the issues [of Dungeon magazine] that have Eberron adventures in them. If anyone knows of a place to find out, I would be greatful. The FAQ for Eberron Newbies has links to some Dragon and Dungeon issues with Eberron content at http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=254109. The list hasn’t been updated in a while, but you can check the latest issues at Paizo’s web site at http://paizo.com/dragon/products/issues and http://paizo.com/dungeon/products/issues. Of course, sometimes the Eberron content of Dungeon magazine is some other type of article than an adventure… |
| Urko06-20-05, 11:41 AM | Dungeon #111 - stats for the Lord of Blades (one possible version of him, anyway) Dungeon #112 - "Queen with Burning Eyes" - a pretty lackluster dungeon crawl with minimal Eberron flavor, in my opinion Dungeon #115 - "Steel Shadows" - a murder mystery in Sharn by Keith Baker. Highly recommended. Dungeon #117 - "Fallen Angel" - venturing into the roughest parts of Sharn to solve the mystery behind the fall of the Glass Tower. Also by Keith Baker, fascinating idea, but not quite as compelling as his previous adventure Dungeon #122 - "Ring of Storms" backdrop by Keith Baker. Provides information about a mystical location in Xen'drik that was once the home of a powerful and debased nation of elves. Very highly recommended. Dungeon #123 - "Crypt of Crimson Stars" a fairly standard dungeon crawl that was originally an RPGA event. Exceedingly average Dungeon #124 - "Temple of the Scorpion God" more of the same, but has a very 'thrown together' feel ('Let's see, you encounter some drow and, um,'<DM rolls dice> 'a bulette. Uh, at the same time') . Substandard, dull (cool name, though!) Dungeon #125 - "Pit of the Fire Lord" last in the "shards of Eberron" arc. Well have to see if it exceeds the standards set by the previous two (I'm not holding my breath) |
| zentr06-20-05, 12:20 PM | Thanks Urko. Great overview. |
| donlazy06-20-05, 07:34 PM | Wow, that was exactly what I was looking for. Thanks a lot. That will really help me with my Eberron addiction. -donlazy |
| Daelkyr06-21-05, 10:20 AM | Don't forget all of the Dragon magazines... Dragon #324 Living Nightmares Keith Baker, creator of Eberron, describes nightmarish monsters from Eberron's realm of dreams. Sleep tight. Dragon #330 Shapers of Shadow: Eberron’s Umbragen by Keith Baker Learn about the mysterious shadow elves of Eberron from Keith Baker, the setting’s creator! This reclusive drow sect dwells on the thrilling continent of Xen’drik, manipulating affairs with a special bond to a shadowy realm known as the Umbra. A new prestige class and a variety of feats give you everything you need to insert the Umbragen into your Eberron campaign. Return to the Far Realm by Bruce R. Cordell Explore a dimension out of synch with the known planes in this expansive treatment by Bruce Cordell. Learn about cenebrotic blots, where the Far Realm touches the Material Plane, and steep your characters in the lore of cenebrosis, the ability to manipulate weird Far Realm energies. A host of new spells and creatures rounds out a spectacular article that is absolutely not to be missed. (With a sidebar for adaptation for Eberron) Dragon #332 Cult of the Dragon Below by Keith Baker Eberron’s creator gives us insight into the diabolical plans of those who worship the horrors of Khyber, the Dragon Below. Hope this helps :) |
| Daelkyr06-21-05, 10:23 AM | Oh, and the Age of Worms adventure path that Dungeon is kicking off will have a section on converting to an Eberron specific campaign written by none other then Keith Baker. This way your Eberron PC's can go from 1st to 20th. |
| Eriedm06-21-05, 08:43 PM | Don't forget many Dungeon adventures can be turned into Eberron adventures with minor work. Currently I'm running Fiends Embrace out of Dungeon #121. |
| Kid SixXx06-22-05, 10:08 AM | Dungeon #123 - "Crypt of Crimson Stars" a fairly standard dungeon crawl that was originally an RPGA event. Exceedingly average Dungeon #124 - "Temple of the Scorpion God" more of the same, but has a very 'thrown together' feel ('Let's see, you encounter some drow and, um,'<DM rolls dice> 'a bulette. Uh, at the same time') . Substandard, dull (cool name, though!) I'm definitely going to have to scale these with RoE or something. Apologies for spoilers, but this is for DM's: I was sorta confused by the Talenta encounters. In Temple, there was a deliberate effort to make the adventure feel more "eberrony" by arming the Drow with chitin armor and weapons you'd expect them to have, while the Talenta halflings in Crypt felt like generic skirmishers. Most likely I will re-arm the Talenta with Talenta weapons, and monkey around a bit with the introductory encounter in Sharn so that my folks have a better perpective on the events. I'm definitely gonna tinker with the BBEG at the end of Temple. There's no way I'm gonna buy the Miniatures book just for the Red Dragon Samurai PrC. ;) |

This way your Eberron PC's can go from 1st to 20th. Yes, make sure you check out the Age of Worms adventure path. With monthly conversion notes from Keith, this should be well developed for Eberron. I can't wait to begin running it in Eberron myself! Rooster |
| Von Ether06-23-05, 03:40 PM | I'm very tempted to work on Age of Worm even further and place the encounters in Sharn. If that means the mighty city of towers falls in a writhing orgy of hunger, I can think of no other way to say impress my players on how epic my game is. |

The Age of Worms adventure path will GO to Sharn in time, VE. Sharn is the "Free City" mentioned in the Whispering Cairn. If you start there, you may have trouble when you're supposed to travel there later on.... ;) |
