I can understand that some people will say that graphics don't make the game but in this case they certainly helps ALOT. FFXI to me is the exact same thing as Everquest and why would I switch to play FFXI, well because I exploring new areas. I think at heart most of us want to see new and amazing places to play DnD or its offspring so my advice to the makers of DnD Online is to have tons of really cool places to see and explore. I have also played and am still playing Asheron's Call 2 which is the same engine that DnD Online will be using. A couple of serious things that are wrong with Asheron's Call 2 that should not be in DnD Online are the rocks which developers call houses. There is no way that DnDers are going to stand to be playing in a world with houses and castles that are just used for scenary. I could go on and on about what would make DnD online great but I think ppl on this board can probably write about thier favorite online game and why they enjoy it. I would put this on a DnD online board but since this is about as close to getting my message to the developers I thought I'd place it here. Also played Anarchy Online and Lineage 2. |

And what exactly makes you think that the developers of D&D Online read these boards? This thread is off topic, and will be either moved or locked by the first WizO that stumbles upon it. |

New areas should open up as you explore or sell/trade locations with other players. Then, a player can open the map, click on a location and teleport/travel to that area. This will give players the option to jog across the world or go strait to the action. |

I saw precisely zero mentions of Eberron in the opening post. If you want to discuss D&D Online, go to the D&D Online boards. These boards are for discussing Eberron. |

I've seen your previous threads and the only one that really flamed was actually you. Well, you don't curse on Eberron this time, but your post appearing in this forum makes as much sense, as posting about Neverwinter Nights gameplay on the Forgotten Realms forum. I'm shure the guys from turbine have a forum, post your concerns there, here the only ones that will read your posts are P&P Eberron players, that can and will do nothing about these things. |

You need to do some research about D&D Online, here is little summary of what I found, as to what is rumor?:) Atari has paid for the rights to produce and distribute electronic D&D games. They have in turn licensed Turbine to create D&D Online. Turbine in negotiations with Atari and WOTC chose Eberron, specifically an unexplored continent of Eberron as their setting. Neither Atari nor Wizard has discussion boards for D&D Online, and neither has any input in the software/game design and development process. As to content I would imagine they have Keith Baker's notes for the unexplored continent and a copy of the campaign book etc... I would imagine as the game and game content gets close to completion both Atari and Hasbro/WOTC will provide input and critique of the game to Turbine, though primarily for brand protection. The best place for online discussion seems to be the VN boards Link (http://vnboards.ign.com/Dungeons_and_Dragons_Online/c15789/) On the WOTC boards, off the General D&D board there is a Software Board in which a poster (stonehill troll) posted some info on D&D Online Link (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=167130) The game is supposed to come out late 2005, but seeing as almost all games are delayed 1 or 2 years. late 2006 is probably more realistic or even 2007. Middle-Earth Online, also by Turbine I believe is now 1 year late. I hope this helps. |
