Of course, considering Eberron is a new setting, it never got parts of it officially sucked to the Ravenlot mists. Which part of Eberron would you see in it? Either an horror place moved or duplicated to Ravenloft? Which evil NPC would you see a tempting the Ravenloft dark powers? I'm asking because it's fun to link settings and all. Joël |

But then I stopped to think about it, and a senario started to form in my mind. I started to imagine some dark force (a daelkyr, perhaps, or a greater demon) slowly taking control of whatever intelligence powers the Silver Flame in Thane. The 'new' Silver Flame transforms the Church into a twisted, nasty reflection of its former self. Thane becomes an oppressive theocracy. Regular human(oid) sacrifices are required of the people, which this alien influence needs in order to maintain control of the Silver Flame. Finally, a thousand fanatics commit mass suicide in a ritual that destroys the benevolent intelligence behind the Silver Flame, leaving the new Dark Flame in its place. Right about that time a hazy fog rose from the ground around Thrane's borders, and immigration from the rest of Khorvaire ground to a sudden halt. How's that? (I especially like the idea that the Lord of the realm wouldn't even have a physical body.) |

It has its own plane structure (there's no abyss or hell), its own concepts of the afterlife, and so on, and all of these are incompatible with their FR and Greyhawk equivalents. It therefore has no connection to the demiplanes as you describe. So the initial answer is that no part of Eberron will ever officially wind up in the Ravenloft mists. Eberron is also targetting a film noir/pulp adventure theme, so you probably won't see a horror themed adventure ever released for it. That's not to say that horrific things can't or won't happen -- certainly there are some horrible parts of Eberron. If I were to pick an official spot that you might use as a candidate, then I would point at Haka'thorvak. There you will find [sblock]Haka'thorvak is a cursed place. Inside the volcano at the centre is a place where ancient demons are trapped. It has a protector -- a gargantuan black dragon who through proximity to the place has gained the fiendish template. He has become what he hates, but he is a dragon. He made a promise and he will stay, guarding the world from evil. But he has an escape plan. If he can achieve demigodhood, he could unite with the Dark Six (the "evil" pantheon) and be beyond his mortal shell. To this end, he has forced the lizardman locals in Q'barra to worship him. Q'barra is a jungle. Haka'thorvak is 10's of thousands of years old. It is a ruin of a ruin of an ancient ruin.[sblock] You could choose to give the place a Mayan theme. I think that would differentiate it from the other Ravenloft demiplanes. But you shouldn't use it as a route to Eberron. Eberron is not part of the megaverse, so it is not appropriate to bring any characters from other realms to Eberron. |

The description of the geography of the area fits with a storyline that a huge chunk of the city was ripped right from the face of the planet (bet you thought I was gonna say "ripped from the earth" didn't you?). |
| Just another user10-12-06, 04:36 PM | How's that? (I especially like the idea that the Lord of the realm wouldn't even have a physical body.) Why bother a Daelkyr, Isn't the demon binded in the flame enough for that? :) |
