| Errant11-15-05, 08:28 PM | I wanted to do a players' primer before my next game and realised I not sure of the standard Eberron calender. Apologies if this is clarified online somewhere already, but I've failed to find it so far and I don't currently have access to my books. What year is it assumed to be in the ECS? Off the top of my head I seem to recall it is currently (according to the ECS) the year 998. Meaning: 2 years since the end of the Last War and the Day of Mourning; 104 years since the beginning of the Last War; and 998 years since the founding of the Kingdom of Galifar? How many days/weeks/months are there to the standard year? Are the months tied to the 13(?) moons somehow? Any clarification would be hugely appreciated, I'd like to include a few dates in my players' primer to put things in perspective and I'd rather not make it up contrary to the ECS. Thanks in advance. :D |
| Gurv11-15-05, 08:50 PM | ECS, page 129 explains it in detail. There are 7 days to a week, each 24 hours long. There are 12 months to a year, each 28 days long. The months have the same names as the 12 remaining moons of Eberron, because each moon glows brighter during a certain 28-day period. And page 225 makes it pretty clear what year the campaign starts in, as well as what year the Mourning occured and what year the Treaty of Thronehold was signed. And no, they didn't sign the Treaty immediately. |

| taski11-16-05, 02:25 AM | Check out the Eberron Calendar Utility (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ebwe/20041129a). The utility also gives the month names used outside of the 5 Nations (Talentan, Mror, Druidic), and some fun planar tracking. |
| Errant11-16-05, 03:21 AM | Thats excellent, thanks Taski! |
| icharbezol11-18-05, 05:24 PM | I do have a calendar I've created based on the calendar of Eberron; you can find it on the Eberron Yahoo! group in the files section or I can email it to you if you want to pm with your address. |
