I was looking at my Eberron book again and realized that the art for all the chapters was very much like the set up of a comic. Is Wizards preparing to create a series of comics?

I WILL buy any released Eberron comic books until the series proves to suck!

I'd subscribe. Hell, I'd subscribe to WotC's Eberron releases if I could.

Well, as far as I know, Devil's Due Publishing (http://www.devilsdue.net/) has acquired the rights to produce comics based on several D&D campaign worlds, including Eberron.

From an interview with Andrew Dabb:

Buzzscope: Are there any plans for further adaptations, or original stories set in some of the other D&D campaign settings? Like Eberron, perhaps?

Andrew Dabb: I believe Devil’s Due will be adapting more of the high profile Dungeons and Dragons novels [among them, the upcoming Dragonlance Chronicles], as well as putting together original comics set in Eberron and other campaign worlds. How involved I’ll be in any of that, I don’t know.

The complete interview is here (http://www.buzzscope.com/reviews.php?id=4571).

I would also buy every Eberron comic too. :)
Heck, I'd buy multiple so that I can give some to my friends :D

I wonder when Devil's Due Publishing will be done

If they got Joss Whedon or Stracynzski (what's his name) to write it, I'd buy it.

Joss Whedon and/or J. Michael Straczysnki and Eberron? That would cause a Geek Overload for me and likely kill me. Add in Keith and my head would explode a'la Scanners :P

...J. Michael Straczysnki...

Let's see, J. Michahel Straczysnki created and wrote almost every episode of Babylon 5. He also created and wrote the comic book maxi-series Rising Stars. One of the best series I have ever read before. If he worked on an Eberron comic I think I would die too.

Seriously, if they made an Eberron comic I would add it to my subscription list without giving it a second thought.

Unfortunately, it seems the only thing they've done with the license since this announcement has been a Dragonlance series. I personally don't have any interest in revisiting this. I would, however, glady pick up a generic D&D series, an Eberron series or, for that matter, any of the official D&D worlds except Dragonlance.

While an Eberron comic would absolutely rock, I don't think you need Whedon or JMS to write in order to make it good. I'd first approach someone like Chuck Dixon or Ron Marz. They're both known for some absolutely fantastic work.

You're in luck my friend. Devil's Due is also publishing the Dark Elf trilogy as a comic book.

As a matter of fact, they've already finished with Homeland, and should be starting Book #2 soon.

They're all set up as 3-4 issues comprising a book.

I too would buy Eberron comic books. I'd probably buy multiples of the first issue, to pass out to friends.

And I don't even BUY comic books!

As I mentioned earlier, Whedon and JMS would make it good enough to die for :P

'Tho Marz and Dixon could be good. What have they worked on? Any memorable stories even a relative comic-newbie like me might have heard of? (Like the story of Spiderman and his clone "brothers" Ben and Khaine)

I'm suprised with all the writers on this board you haven't dicussed doing a fan based comic.

If there were to be a professionally done comic in the Eberron setting, I'd hope they at least keep focus and not spread themselves out with multiple characters. Retcon is nice, but not with an entire multiverse of character's whos perspective constantly changes.

If it looked like Sin City or Hellboy that would definetly rock.
