| davethebrave37104-19-07, 05:57 PM | Is there a list anywhere of every Dungeon with Eberron adventures and every Dragon with Eberron articles (leading up to the new Dragonmarks, of course, as every issue since their inception has Eberron content obviously). I get 10 back issues from Paizo because I'm 10 issues over when Dragon is getting canceled, and I have every issue from #344 of Dragon, and from #137 of Dungeon. Other than that, nada. |

I forgot I contributed there. Also, I forgot I owned 129. I think my friend still has it, the bastard. :D |

| WarlockDa04-19-07, 06:41 PM | Wait,....so the comp. for subscribers that have paid for issues past the cut off is back issues? Or is that merely one option? |

| WarlockDa04-19-07, 06:59 PM | Ahhh ok that's not too bad then. At first I was like WTF? lol Still kinna sad to see it go,...even though I've only gotten them here and there over the last view years,... Dragon and Dungeon mags and just always been there :| Still according to a survey I did awhile back...the new online options should be quite good....provided they don't charge an arm, leg, and +2 bonus for it. |
| Nlogue04-19-07, 07:07 PM | I'm really looking forward to Pathfinder. It's going to be absolutely crazy-cool. I'm working on the third installment (right now in between posting as a matter o' fact). Rise of the Runelords is going to be the coolest series of adventures ever. James Jacobs is a true mastermind genius imho. I hope the online content for WotC is cool too. Can't wait to see what they do. |
| cancerousmango04-19-07, 11:06 PM | Call me a luddite, but as an English major, I'm a bibliophile, and just love having something tangible in my hands. That's why all my PDF's bother me. I want to be able to read these things when I go hiking, or between classes. Oh well. Gotta modernize sometime. |
| davethebrave37104-19-07, 11:20 PM | I'm going to wait and see. For all we know they'll provide an option for that. Unlikely, but they might. |
| Vharuck04-19-07, 11:31 PM | Call me a luddite, but as an English major, I'm a bibliophile, and just love having something tangible in my hands. That's why all my PDF's bother me. I want to be able to read these things when I go hiking, or between classes. Oh well. Gotta modernize sometime. I'm with you here. Nothing makes a piece of writing feel more, well, worth while than being in physical print. Online things remind me more of amateur blogs and quickly-conceived, -written, and -edited articles that aren't really worth the minimal effort of clicking the link to them. However, I may like books too much as well, as I've refused to return any of my college texts for bookstore credit, regardless of whether I'd ever use them again or even dropped with the class. |
| Dragom04-19-07, 11:56 PM | My (Su) ability devour knowledge really doesn't work very well on PDF's. Makes my eyes sore trying to peel knowledge from rows of luminous pixels. |
| Paulon04-20-07, 12:59 AM | The biggest problem with electronic formats for me is that either you have to print them at a cost of ink and paper, or you have to read them at the computer. Until someone releases a decent and inexpensive portable book displayer, with decent battery life, and the ability to handle large files, then PDFs and other electronic formats just won't take off. I have bought a lot of electronic books because such things as searchability and quick access are handy, but given the portability issues, I definitely prefer the hard copies for casual reading. |
| Soloran04-20-07, 01:13 AM | I absolutely agree with the Luddites here. One of the things I enjoyed about my Dungeon Magazines was the fact that I could carry it around with me everywhere I went. It's not like I can bring my laptop into the bathroom right? |
| cancerousmango04-20-07, 01:19 AM | It seems as if there will be print versions of Pathfinder...let's give that a try. PLEASE PAIZO, MAKE EBERRON SPECIFIC STUFF IN THIS, OK? It might lower your profit margin, but you will garner loyalty. Maybe. |
| DBlizzard04-20-07, 01:26 AM | PLEASE PAIZO, MAKE EBERRON SPECIFIC STUFF IN THIS, OK? Not an option. WotC owns Eberron and are the only ones who can publish products with Eberron material (once the magazines run their course). They won't have the rights to do Eberron material. |

They won't have the rights to do Eberron material. Oh yeah. Damnit. I always like Paizo's stuff better than WotC's more often than not. Shackled City and Age of Worms FTW! |
| davethebrave37104-20-07, 11:27 AM | Yeah, let's leave Eberron up to the geniuses who allowed Clockwork Crapfest to run as a regular column. Joy. |

I want to be able to read these things when I go hiking, or between classes. Oh well. Gotta modernize sometime. Although I look forward to the same quality of articles our fellows enjoy on the Magic website, I too mourn the loss of 1st-rate toilet reading. Can't lug a desktop into the head, that's for sure. |
| Euangelion04-22-07, 12:08 AM | Yeah, let's leave Eberron up to the geniuses who allowed Clockwork Crapfest to run as a regular column. Joy. I've never seen my own inner thoughts put so poetically by someone else. |
| davethebrave37104-22-07, 12:39 AM | I've never seen my own inner thoughts put so poetically by someone else. I see your flattery and raise it with my own. I've probably never mentioned this before, but I always lol at the Morgrave portion of your sig when I see it, and you are among my top 5 favourite posters (aside from published Eberron writers) in the Eberron threads! |

They won't have the rights to do Eberron material. This makes me tremendously sad. I love writing for Eberron, and Dungeon is the only place I could propose my own adventures. The real bummer is that even though the sequel to "Chimes at Midnight" will come out in the final issue #150 (I'm immortalized in the final issue!!! Bitter sweet!), I have a killer next installment called "Hell's Heart" rarin to go, and now the trilogy shall remain ever-unfinished. Pathfinder on the other hand will be the cat's pajamas, of that there is no doubt. I've seen major spoilers for the first two installments (and of course the third, muhaha!) and they are absolutely amazing. The best adventures I've read hands down (not mine, James Jacobs' and Richard Pett's). The awesome adventures combined with tons of other content too (fricking cool support articles) and the best cover art I've ever seen has me drooling for these things to hit the mailboxes and shelves...check out these covers... Pathfinder 1: Burnt Offerings http://paizo.com/image/product/secondary/Pathfinder/Pathfinder1_02.jpg Pathfinder 2: The Skinsaw Murders http://paizo.com/image/product/secondary/Pathfinder/Pathfinder2_1000.jpg I can't friggin wait for my cover to be posted!!! Inbred ogre hillbilly cannibals!!! W00T! :) |
| davethebrave37104-22-07, 11:37 AM | If I wasn't focused on my year and a half (and still going strong, in fact we're having a session today) Eberron campaign, I'd be picking up Pathfinder. But at this point, I've got a) my own story arcs, b) still some content from Dungeon to do, not to mention EotLQ and VotGD and c) not enough time to adapt such a huge story arc to Eberron. |
| Belabras04-22-07, 02:16 PM | Yeah, let's leave Eberron up to the geniuses who allowed Clockwork Crapfest to run as a regular column. Joy. 3rded |
| DBlizzard04-22-07, 03:43 PM | Pathfinder on the other hand will be the cat's pajamas, of that there is no doubt. But they aren't Eberron, and that's a sticking point. We've lost a major bit of Eberron pieces with the loss of Dragon and Dungeon. True, Erik and James seemed to dislike Eberron, so it took a while before Dragon got regular content (and Dungeon had it mostly disappear with only a couple of adventures in a year). However, it did have some quality material, especially Keith and yours. |

Ah, shucks! Back at ya. At least they're finally publishing Keith's Dragonshard articles again. Maybe we'll see some Eberron Expanded too... |

However, it did have some quality material, especially Keith and yours. I really hope that Pathfinder will be adaptable to Eberron... One can dream right? I will admit that the loss of Dungeon and Dragons hit us Eberroners pretty hard, seems here in Cambridge, UK I will never get a hold of back issues which is a shame as I want Chimes to Midnight :( |
| Nlogue04-22-07, 06:21 PM | However, it did have some quality material, especially Keith and yours. Thanks DBlizzard! I'll miss my chance to pen adventures for Dungeon especially. Good times while it lasted. |
| DBlizzard04-23-07, 12:06 AM | I really hope that Pathfinder will be adaptable to Eberron... One can dream right? They'll probably be adaptable to Eberron, but it might take a lot of work. Paizo has a very strong tendency to fit demon lords or incarnated gods (sometimes a combination of the two) into their adventure paths. These things don't translate well to Eberron. I don't mind doing adapting. In fact, I'm working on adapting Wolfgang Baur's Open Design projects Steam & Brass and Castle Shadowcrag to Eberron. However, I'd rather have a quality adventure be written for Eberron, so the customization can be just to tie it into my Eberron campaign, rather than Eberron and my campaign. |
| Nlogue04-23-07, 12:10 AM | Personally, from everything I've seen so far, Rise of the Runelords will be a piece of cake to adapt to Eberron, I'm already planning on trying it that way with my new group in New York after I move. Think about it...evil backwards giants who were not always so...sound familiar? Costal city near untamed wilds...sound like a place we know? :) Heck...magic runes...hmmm? ;) |
| Dragom04-23-07, 12:11 AM | Hopefully Wizards new mag is staffed by a competent and devoted staff that can actually churn out Eberron related items of quality. And believe it or not I'm planning on picking up a Pathfinder subscription. This hub bub is good publicity. And what can I say, I like being in on stuff from the start more then I like playing catchup for the past few decades. |
| Soloran04-23-07, 12:23 AM | Personally, as long as it's easier to adapt than Shackled City (THAT was a doozy), I'll be game. |
| DBlizzard04-23-07, 12:32 AM | Personally, from everything I've seen so far, Rise of the Runelords will be a piece of cake to adapt to Eberron, The goblins, while cool, don't seem very Eberron. |
| Nlogue04-23-07, 06:06 AM | Point well taken. Yeah, I'll probably have to substitute a different race charging in from Xen'drik...heck, maybe I'll use kobolds for my campaign. |
| Seelenquell04-23-07, 03:14 PM | @Nlogue: Regarding the third part of your trilogy: please try to somehow publish it, wether through WotC's upcoming online something, or another way. If it is somehow as good as Chimes, I think I'm not the only one wanting to get my hands on it ! |

Possibly even create a new race (I might be tempted to use the Nilbog title, since I'd never use the D&D version in my Eberron). |
| Nlogue04-23-07, 06:25 PM | Possibly even create a new race (I might be tempted to use the Nilbog title, since I'd never use the D&D version in my Eberron). That's an awesome idea! I was thinking of going grimlocks maybe, but now I might go with Nilbogs too! If you have any thoughts you want to share on what you'd do with them DBlizzard, let me know! |

If it is somehow as good as Chimes, I think I'm not the only one wanting to get my hands on it ! I'll try. I definitely want to. I'll talk to Wizards about the possibility of doing it for them, but I am not big on writing for online...I like to hold it in my hot little hands, marvel and say "Holy cats! I wrote this!" :D I'm sure it will see print somehow though. Don't worry. I definitely want to finish Viktor's storyline. |

If you have any thoughts you want to share on what you'd do with them DBlizzard, let me know! I'd probably wait until the first issue is released. I'm leaning towards rolling my 3 remaining months subscription of Dungeon into it, although adventure paths have always been my least favorite part of the magazine. The trick will be squeezing them into Eberron canon. I don't want them to be unique to that particular adventure. They should certainly have a place and role. After all, they are just too cool not to use. Maybe they are some sort of mongrelman-like offshoot of the goblin race. For those who wonder what's so cool about them: http://paizo.com/pathfinder/blog (search for "Reinventing The Wheel" towards the bottom of the page). |
| Nlogue04-24-07, 02:08 PM | Nice Dblizzard! Just give us one chance to get our hooks into you...I'm sure James Jacobs mad skillz will not let you down!:) I looooove the mongrel-men idea. That's got legs. I still dig on the Nilbogs too...Old MM II or Fiend Folio? Can't remember... |
