There are more intriguing scraps of information about the most ancient history of Eberron, and some interesting points about how to make sure that the focus of the setting stays with the player characters.

Excellent work, Kieth! With the downturn in Dragonshard articles, I look forward to seeing more of these.

01-30-06, 05:48 AM I especially liked the suggestion to use different strains of vampirism. Even the vampires of the Blood fear the horrible monsters of the mysterious Katashka!

01-30-06, 08:42 AM The article posed a few good ideas. Why didnt Vol use the Cyst spells? Im guessing that she figured out that the Cyst requirement was to steep a price to pay, but will your average PC make the same deduction?
Im curious to see how they handle the new equipment presented in LM. SOme of the gear in that can be rather impressive, and not just from a combat standpoint. I wonder if Karnath has a phalanx squad sporting Wrapped Towers?

01-30-06, 09:42 AM OOOoaaahhh! I've been waiting for this. Now I can figure out how to make a sub-sect of the Blood of Vol using the Evening Glory. Take political power away from Vol and give it back to Kaius. ;)
I hadn't thought of the Qabalrin at all, shame on me, I have that Dungeon issue too!

I love the amount of info in this one about Necromantic practices and N:s history. The info and suggestion on how to implement things was also nice and the Vampire stuff was also nice :3

01-30-06, 03:21 PM Libris Mortis introduces a new mechanic that weakens undead if they cannot satiate a hunger. For Vamps it's life-force, but that's a little extreme for regular donations so Keith recommends weakening the penalties involved for failing to feed, rather than the damage they inflict on others when they do so.

I'd be apt to ignore the requirement for vamps to drain life-force. Personally, I find it way to restricting, and I can't think of any vampires in the media (movies, etc) that are required to smack some poor fool around and drink their blood.

I could see places in Karrnath and where the BoV is prevalent where they have options open to take care of that particular need. Livestock needs a good natural attack slam now and again... :evillaugh

01-31-06, 09:04 AM It definitely kept my attention for a while, and now I'm mad that I haven't bought that book, having only borrowed it for a weekend from my room-mate back at Temple. BTW, totally off subject, but I watched The Brothers Grimm last night, and aside from being kind of lame for forcing Terry Gilliam, the god of old-school special effects, to use CG, it reminded me a lot of Eberron.

Evening Glory is a demi/lesser-god (not to sure which) presented in Libris Mortis.
