I was working on creating a wizard for an Eberron campaign I am joining and I was curious if different familiars might be available to wizards of eberron in addition to the traditonal list to reflect the differnt world that is Eberron?

The only familiars that could be Eberron specific are creatures printed in Eberron books.

That leaves you with a few homonculi and the spiretop dragon. On the top of my head, I don't remember other creature whose size and power fits a familiar -- and even then, those will need the Improved Familiar feat.

There is a very briefly mentioned magical rabbit-like creature that can turn invisible in the ECS. It's mentioned as an ingredient.

That would be funny. You have this nifty bunny critter as a familiar... and every other caster you meet tries to gut it.

don't remember if i saw this in the ecs or somewhere else, but a tiny or smaller dinosaur could be an option for a familiar. i think there is a specific one mentioned maybe?

Homonculi would be very Eberronesque. Especially one of the new ones (but not only them.)

Just my two cents. :D

I think that was in a Dragon, which I have but can't find... Grr.

The Spiretop Dragon in Sharn:City of Towers can be used as an improved familiar, instead of a pseudo-dragon.

I overlooked them. Are they mentioned to have a single horn on their head? If so, that's the return of the al-mi'raj!

what about the improved familiars from the Tome&Blood, especially the Pseudodragon, my longtime favorite.
Do they exist in Eberron or is there a problem because of the other role dragon play here ?
