| RadicalTaoist10-11-04, 02:20 AM | The question has been asked of Hellcow, we might as well take a shot at it. What music would you have playing in the background while you explore and master the Dragon Between? For me, I'd take: about 60% of the Cowboy Bebop soundtrack, which rules so much Pleasing Falsetto, by Moist Jada's Got A Gun, by Jadakiss Sympathy for the Devil, by Guns 'N Roses (the Rolling Stones version is nice but this one rules) I Shot The Sheriff, by Bob Marley and the Wailers Black Black Heart, by David Usher The Whole World by Outkast ft. Killer Mike Mack the Knife (ne version will do) Born to be Wild by Steppenwolf Let's hear some music folks! :D |
| Save-vs-DM10-11-04, 03:49 AM | Planet Suite by Holst. 'nuff said. Cheers, Save vs DM |
| polt10-11-04, 08:16 AM | Blind Guardian and lots of it, for the fights god dammit. And there is this other really good group, but i cant remember their name. They made some Robin Hood music, which is just awesome. |
| WizO_Sith10-11-04, 10:04 AM | I've used the "Raiders of the Lost Ark", "Indiana Jones & The Temple of Doom", and "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" soundtracks (not the main title theme which is so identified with the title character it tends, IMX, to jar the players out of the game). I've also gotten a lot of milage out of the "Conan The Barbarian" soundtrack. |
| protonik10-11-04, 11:37 AM | Sky Captain and that is all I want to say or need to say... |
| Megatron10-11-04, 11:40 AM | Dresden Dolls - A boston group with lots of style, great for when your players visit one of the theatres of Sharn Falconer - Spore's personal favorite adventuring music. Demons & Wizards - A joint project between a gamer favourite Blind Guardian and a classic speed metal band Iced Earth. Very good, mellow songs with a folky feel. Switchblade Symphony - Just because. Corvus Corax - Traditional medieval style played by a Death metal band. and sung in Latin; could you really ask for any more? Suggested songs: "In Taberna"," Mille anni passe sunt" Floggy Molly - Zed like 'em. Good for taverns or fights. Hellboy Soundtrack - Instrumental music, great for battles and cityscapes. Front Line Assembly - OK, so it's a little too industrial. It's still good to get your creative juices flowing as a DM. I took a few from an article I'm writing. |
| Ch@pel10-11-04, 07:45 PM | Dresden Dolls - A boston group with lots of style, great for when your players visit one of the theatres of Sharn Megatron, I LOVE you, and I wish to have your babies! Before the CSB was even out, I suggested this band for the setting, but no one seemed to have heard of them; I guess they are a little unknown. I've worked with them and seen them play several times, and they gave me free CDs and swag, so I figured I'd pimp them a little on the boards. I'm glad that someone else has heard of them. Long live the punk cabaret (http://dresdendolls.com/)! |

| Somebloke10-11-04, 08:54 PM | Does anyone know any good orchestral/choir music with a modern update? I'm running in Thrane after all... |
| Splendide10-11-04, 09:00 PM | The Polyphonic Spree? Probably not solemn enough though. |
| Caul10-11-04, 09:12 PM | Okay, you might think this is weird, but my party's theme song is Crawlin' In the Dark by Hoobastank...the lyrics do it... |
| perringaiden10-11-04, 10:44 PM | I actually raised the same question on the Morgrave University forums, putting my ideas in there Morgrave University (http://eberron.nightchilde.net/) Mournland Sacred Spirit 2 - Culture Clash : Not all tracks, but some are very slow and sorrowful Hans Zimmer - Black Hawk Down : Only some tracks again Eldeen Reaches Sacred Spirit - Tribal Music of the Native Americans : Good for a nature-based spiritual feel Sharn Eric Serra - The Fifth Element (Soundtrack) : Some of this is too modern/industrial, but it gives some good action tracks and some good ones to give the feel of sweeping towers etc. |
| RadicalTaoist10-11-04, 10:50 PM | Jeez, everyone's posting ST's for the jungle/outdoorsy parts, and I'm focusing on the more urban aspects. D'oh! |
| perringaiden10-11-04, 11:02 PM | Jeez, everyone's posting ST's for the jungle/outdoorsy parts, and I'm focusing on the more urban aspects. D'oh! True, which is why I'm interested. I've been finding it hard to find anything to show Sharn, without it getting too modern. Something that is busy but highlights the *air* in Sharn. |
| jonthegm10-11-04, 11:10 PM | True, which is why I'm interested. I've been finding it hard to find anything to show Sharn, without it getting too modern. Something that is busy but highlights the *air* in Sharn. Here's my work in progress: The Eberron Campaign Mix Tape : Volume 2 v0.4 : A Rainy Night in Sharn 1. Christopher Franke - Babylon 5 - Mind War (2) (2:37) 2. Harald Kloser - Alien Vs. Predator - Antarctica (2:21) 3. Apocalyptica - Reflections - Cohkka (4:31) 4. Marco Beltrami - I, Robot - Spiderbots (4:19) 5. John Williams - Harry Potter And The Prisoner of Azkaban - The Dementors Converge (3:09) 6. Michiru Oshima - Fullmetal Alchemist Original Soundtrack 1 - Ishbal (3:32) 7. Mark Griskey - The Best of LucasArts Original Soundtracks - Gladius Sketches (3:37) |
| Splendide10-11-04, 11:26 PM | For Sharn? OK. Specific tracks listed - they're all a bit jazzy but all a bit suspenseful too. Paris Streatham - Cujo The Brazilianaire - Cujo Bridge - Amon Tobin Nova - Amon Tobin Switch - Amon Tobin Saboteur - Amon Tobin 3 - Daniel Johns and Paul Mac 16 Megatons - Funki Porcini |
| hiryuu10-12-04, 12:12 AM | I've used the Read or Die soundtrack - some great generic spy music in there. Also, Nadia: Secret of Blue water. |
| Somebloke10-12-04, 07:41 AM | I've used the Read or Die soundtrack - some great generic spy music in there. Also, Nadia: Secret of Blue water. Heh...love that series.... Don't forget Noir either. |
| MrFilthyIke10-12-04, 11:29 AM | Dresden Dolls - A boston group with lots of style, great for when your players visit one of the theatres of Sharn Switchblade Symphony - Just because. Front Line Assembly - OK, so it's a little too industrial. It's still good to get your creative juices flowing as a DM. I've never heard Dresden Dolls, but I like the look :) Switchblade Symphony? Would've never thought of using them, but that *is* a good idea. FLA is never too industrial, just use when appropriate. I've used that style in fantasy campaigns and never had a problem. I'd suggest Midnight Syndicate's non-D&D soundtrack albums. Very good, picked them up at GenCon03. |
| RadicalTaoist10-12-04, 01:43 PM | The soundtrack to the documentary The Civil War by Ken Burns is good for campaigns close to the events of the Last War. Might as well what I feel are the most Eberrony pieces from the Cowboy Bebop soundtrack, composed by Yoko Kanno. From the first CD Tank! Rush Spokey Dokey Piano Black Rain Memory Minidisc (Vitaminless) The Real Folk Blues (End Theme) SPY Piano Bar I Second CD Green Bird Want It All Back Third CD Go Go Cactus Man The Real Man New York Rush Adieu Road to the West Farewell Blues The Real Folk Blues (So Long Space Cowboy version) Movie OST Clutch MUSAWE What Planet is This? Fingers Powder No Money That's all. While we're on it, Only In Dreams by Weezer is THE song for a psionics/Kalashtar themed campaign in Eberron. |
| TheScalesOfFate10-12-04, 02:11 PM | "Tu Mira" from Kill Bill. My DM used it when we faced down a longtime nemesis. Fun stuff, that Kill Bill Soundtrack. |
