| DragonMagess04-07-08, 03:30 PM | So I've read all the novels, am eagerly awaiting the yet to be published ones, have most of the rulebooks, and still need to read more of Eberron. The question posed is thus where can I find some good Eberron based fan-fiction on the internet? Have already found one story which I'm enjoying immensely, it can be found @ http://eberronfanfic.blogspot.com/2007/12/hey-there.html I hope this isn't against board regulations or anything, after all there is the OGL. |
| Lord_Tirian04-08-08, 03:49 AM | ...I hope this isn't against board regulations or anything, after all there is the OGL. I don't think people will come down hard on fanfics - but the OGL isn't relevant. The OGL only covers what is released in the SRD and parts of the Unearthed Arcana book - and in both cases it's only rules, not background released under the OGL. The Eberron book contains no OGL material whatsoever, and even if it did, the setting material wouldn't be part of it. Not saying you should take it down, it just hasn't anything to do with the OGL. Cheers, LT. |
| Cuaglar04-13-08, 01:46 AM | I wrote a fanfiction about my first Eberron adventure, written or played, which I consider to be one of the best I've done. I also started writing a sequel, but since we only started the next adventure, and never finished it, it's kind of stalled, since so much story was given by the other players. http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3832919/1/The_Trio_of_Troubles |

| Cuaglar04-13-08, 11:00 PM | AHHHHH!!!!!!!!! FANFIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Run for your lives!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :P And yes, I'm aware of the razor thin line between fanfic and my own 20 page character backgrounds. 20 Microsoft Word pages, or paper? 'Cause most of my backgrounds (and I've written at least one character background and notion for each class) take up two pages in a Word document. Most of them, I've never played, 'cause I can't play face-to-face and Eberron games are hard to find on Roleplay Online. And, yay! My works get read, actually, by random chance! |
| Edymnion04-14-08, 12:26 PM | Its a bit of an exaggeration, really. My background for my WF Paladin, Crucible, turned out to be 20 pages after I upped the font size to make it readable on the parchment background I used for the PDF, and the page breaks for the "chapters". In straight up typed text, its probably not more than 7-10 pages. |
| Cuaglar04-15-08, 12:48 AM | http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3598709/1/Forged_in_War_Book_1_Reforged This was actually the fanfiction that inspired me to write my own Eberron work. Really good stuff. |
| Mystrich04-21-08, 01:04 AM | http://geeksdreamgirl.com/2008/03/02/diary-of-a-drow-days-1-2/ It's not so much a fanfiction, as the adventure through her character's point of view, but it is pretty entertaining. It's a group of Xen'drink natives, fighting both the 'invaders', and now looking for what these adventurers are after so they can destroy it and stop people from coming after it. |
