Hey all!

Just wanted to say that as a lover of our great setting, I plan to be playing in Eberron for the next forty years come hell, high water or the 20th edition of this game.

I shall continue to write adventures that belong in Sharn, Stormreach, and across Khorvaire, Argonessen and Xen'drik (with Keith's blessing and help that is).

In fact, I've been expressly trying to get my grubby little hands on urban adventures and others I think can easily be enjoyed in Eberron. Keep an eye out, because no matter what I'm working on, I've got my eye on Eberron. :-)

You may want to check out Hangman's Noose, Edge of Anarchy (both coming out from Paizo), or the new Open Design project (Blood of the Gorgon) as all would make great additions to Sharn's adventure files. Also, keep your eye on DI Dungeon.

Who knows, perhaps someday, Tall Towers Cast Long Shadows will come to life!

Keep on rocking Eberron my friends. I will too. Anyone hitting Gencon this year? I'm thinking of running a few Eberron adventures there.

I have fairly recently incorporated Eberron into my larger campaign. My players thought they were being clever, testing me by insisting on a drow campaign that utilized two relocated Menzoberranyr drow, a native drow, and a warforged. I'm proud to say I rose to the challenge, and while the party has no official name except for "Gennex, take your friends and go get Zala's ruby back from the guys who stole it" (or whatever the mission is).

Ravenloft only lasted a couple of go-arounds for me, but it looks like Eberron is going to be around for awhile in my campaign. I can tell because the stories are starting to just roll together on their own. First retrieving the cockatrice feather led to capture, enslavement, and subsequent escape, an adventure designed to give the party a good taste of the world. If it wasn't for the orcs, they never would have made it (a fact which still astounds the Menzo drow). After the cockatrice feather, a large ruby given to Zala by her grandfather to wear on her wedding day was stolen. Since they earned nice reputations for the first adventure (which involved rescuing Gennex's long-lost brother from slavers), the PCs had to go get it back, which involved fighting Kuo-Toa, bluffing their way past very annoyed Dwarves, bargaining with Troglodytes, and a renegade adolescent Black Dragon who wasn't in the mood for much besides eating whatever wandered nearby. Up next, the ruby has been returned, Zala and Neff got hitched, but...

...a cry for help goes up from a nearby swimming hole. It's Zala's voice calling for the tribe. Neff bursts through the jungle just in time to see Zala being carried off, kicking and struggling, by a band of outlanders on mounts. The tribe pursues, hoping to head the outlanders off by taking a shortcut to the road to Stormreach. Noting the direction through the undergrowth, however, Gennex and co notice that they aren't heading toward Stormreach. They're bound for Dar Qat...

{The scene just before this, RPed as a solo run, involved the outlanders tracking the ruby and finding it in a circlet on Zala's head. As she pulled on her clothes after enjoying a cool dip, a scruffy, stocky man with an eyepatch appeared as if from nowhere. Zala has no idea who he is or what he wants.

MAN: We can do this the easy way or the hard way.
ZALA (confused but cautious): What's the easy way?
MAN: You give me that ruby, and you'll never see me again.
ZALA: I guess it's the hard way, then.

That was when the party emerged from cover to take her by force. A pretty little slave might fetch a bit of money to go along with what they'll be paid for the ruby.}

Can they cut off the party before they get to Dar Qat, or is the party going to have to make a slight trip to Sarlona?

Consider the blessing given! I appreciate the sentiment, and as far as your other work goes I'm excited to get into Blood of the Gorgon (It's been a crazy January, or I'd have dug in already!).

I certainly plan to be at GenCon, and I hope to see some of the other folks from the boards there!

I'm glad to hear it, Shiftkitty. I hope your crew has fun in Sarlona, or wherever their adventures take them.

Glad to hear it Nic ;) One thought, which you may already be doing or may not even be allowed to do for various reasons, see about including a small sidebar, paragraph, etc on converting a module to use within Eberron. I love that they do that with the various adventure hooks and a few of the old Dungeon adventures, be great if everyone could do it. ;)

Oh yeah. I have no qualms about dragging old dungeons out of retirement and giving them the Eberron twist. Especially those old 2e modules! Boy do they take on a fresh life!

Oh I wholeheartedly agree. The problem I have, which I'm sure alot of DMs have, is a lack of time to tweak a module into being properly Eberron. With work more often than not having me out of home for 12+ hours a day, not counting emergency calls at all hours, plus everyday RL things, it's hard to find time to properly prep an actual Eberron module, much less convert a stock D&D one.

Hence if modules came with a few conversion notes, that would instantly place them on my purchase list, above and beyond anything else about the adventure ;)

Getting off-topic a little bit. I began playing D&D 3 years ago, starting with a generic world campaign and then soon a FR game. When I learned Eberron, I became addicted to it. I used to write an urban adventure module for some magazine in my homeland, but I'm completely a newbie here in the US. I still feel like writing in my spare time, and hope to get some of them published, but don't know how. Are there suggestions you guys can give me? :P

This is hard my man! Most companies have shut the gates firmly until they see what happens with the Edition change. Now is a rough time to try and get something published. You could try Louis Porter Jr. Designs and see if they have a submission policy. I know Necromancer games used to take submissions and still might. Goodman Games might too!

Nlogue, I'm really thankful. Maybe waiting for 4E is also a good idea. After all, however rules change, story on its own right is unaffected. I'll take a look at these companies, definitely, to see if I can share my stories with others. My great thanks again!

That would definitely be crossing lines in a published adventure. However, it's not unusual to have messageboard comments about how they would do it.

I know Wolfgang Baur's Open Design projects often have posts discussing how to use the adventures in certain campaign worlds. I would expect that Nic's Blood of the Gorgon will have one on Eberron, for example.

Good stuff, Nic, though I hope you have some time to put into adventures that are not based around Sharn and the big cities. I still remember that the first adventure I read of yours I believe was Cry Wolf.
