| Sir Elton02-23-07, 08:26 PM | Okay, My other radicalism aside, I'm trying something else radical. I've been writing out my adventures as a combination Screenplay-traditional adventure and running them like they were movies! Comments? |
| Luisjoey02-23-07, 08:47 PM | That was the intention when Eberron comes for the very first time. |
| Sir Elton02-23-07, 11:25 PM | No-no-no. You don't understand. Maybe this transcript from one of my recent games can shed some light. -- Elton. --- ________________________________________ _________________________ ** (1) Producer exclaims as the buzzer rings! ** (1) Producer: Ready, Camera, ACTION! (1) Storyteller: :fade in (1) Storyteller: INT JAPAN MALL, DAY (1) Storyteller: Last time we were around, Risa, Nanami, and Seiko were in a Japanese mall, at the Hot Topic. (okay, it's Pseudo - - - ngggaaah!) (1) Seiko: My aunt is very cool, isn't she? ** Risa nods. "Never ending surprises." ** ** Risa thought that the Aunt was the fabric store. ** (1) Seiko: Well. Nanami, shall we? Nanami: yeah, she has some good stuff ** Nanami grins ** (1) Seiko: A lot of good stuff. Nanami: of course! ** (1) Seiko grabs Risa's right. ** ________________________________________ _________________________ And another. ________________________________________ _________________________ (5) Storyteller: :fade in (5) Storyteller: (( Cat in Face! )) (5) Storyteller: EXT. DAY. Nanami: (( he picked a bad time )) Nanami: (( he's gone now )) (5) Storyteller: WIDE SHOT of the Japanese Suburbs. Nanami's House. It's morning again in Nanami's house and it appears that Tashiro is on the couch again, in his boxers wearing a different kind of shirt. ** (5) Tashiro snores. ** ** Nanami comes down stairs, wearing her uniform, ready to grab some breakfast before running off to school ** ** (5) Tashiro snores again. ** Nanami: Oh no, Tashiro! What are you doing down here? ** (5) Tashiro wakes up. "Huh, what . . . " snorts. ** Nanami: You should get upstairs into your room before mom and dad catch you Nanami: MAYBE they won't hear (5) Tashiro: Awe, Nanami. I had an all night fixer with one of Kuda's cars. Nanami: well, you know that mom isn't going to think that's what it was (5) Tashiro: Okay. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Are you getting the point? |
| Romulus LoneWolf02-25-07, 10:51 AM | So, you meant that litterally... |
| cancerousmango02-26-07, 02:06 PM | As an ex-film major, I've read a few screenplays, and this thing baffles me. I know the correct formatting for those things is incredibly difficult and time-consuming, but now I see why. This proprietary format you're using is confusing. And if it's not proprietary, it does not lend itself to the proper conveyance of a storyline, especially a D&D session. FADE IN: INT. DREADHOLD LOWER LEVEL. NIGHT GRAFT and ZALBAG are inside a cell in the deep wards of DREADHOLD, where they are attempting to speak with a long-imprisoned lich held prisoner. GRAFT Alright, we've gotten into this cell from the outside. You listen while I prepare the illusory door wand, the silence wand, and the door-melting acid. Zalbag (notching arrow in bow) Gotcha Graft produces a flask of viscous black fluid and sets to melting the door, until a hole large enough to squeeze through appears. Graft (nonchalantly waving wand of silence) This shouldn't be this easy This is what a screenplay looks like. |
| Sir Elton02-26-07, 05:30 PM | Yes, I knew what a screen play looks like. But what I posted was part of a *TRANSCRIPT*. (15) Rie: yeah, I'm back (15) Rie: and it's definitely better (13) Conroy: And better than ever! (13) Conroy: (15) Rie: is it live or memorie (13) Conroy: (: GVM: Set variable $CastC to be: 4 GVM: Set variable $ControlC to be: 3 GVM: Set variable $Level to be: 0 GVM: Set variable $BAB to be: 0 GVM: Set variable $DrnR to be: 0 You must be a GM to use this feature (13) Conroy: I thought he might try to trigger Risa's Blind Fury. (15) Nanami: well he got to Kuro pretty well (13) Conroy: Yeup.:) (13) Conroy: Just in case Nanami ends up with Magic again, that's why I have the water dumped over here, Nanami can do that from a distance to her. (15) Nanami: hehehe (13) Conroy: Heeheehee. (13) Conroy: So, ready? (15) Nanami: that's why the name was changed to protect the guilty (13) Conroy: (13) Risa: Gonna seperate log this? (15) Nanami: so after finally getting away from her mom, Nanami will meet up with Risa (15) Nanami: yeah, I disconnected so a new log is started ** (13) Risa is sitting on the front porch looking up at the overcast but no longer precipitating sky. ** (15) Nanami: and I did save the old one first (13) Risa: Good. (15) Nanami: I have the log from the one you missed too if you want to see that (13) Risa: Did he misplay Risa totally? (15) Nanami: no, she wasn't in it (13) Risa: Good. (15) Nanami: I figured he would mess it up if he did play her though (15) Nanami: and I do prefer having you here anyways, much more fun (13) Risa: You know he would. She's a complex one, this time. Last time she was pretty simple to motivate. This time she doesn't just go where it makes sense for the story and makes thing easy. She's much tougher now, mentally. (13) Risa: THanks. (13) Risa: So... (13) Risa: Nanami ventures through the front door, finally free of Clingy-Mom... (15) Nanami: it's never easy is it? I think I'm going to have a fairly normal life, then stuff like this prince happenbs, then those weird guys, then the Atlantis thing, all right before the dance ** (13) Risa nods, getting to her feet and brushing the back of her pants off. "I couldn't agree more. Having a boyfriend who isn't exactly on the first page of the program can be a problem sometimes." she pauses to check reaction. ".Or so Remi says." ** (15) Nanami: well, I wasn't thinking that was the hard part actually. not that it's easy, but you saw how mom is, she misses Tashiro, even though Dad has wanted to kick him out so many times (15) Nanami: and she's going to freak when she sees the geometry grade ** (13) Risa nods, starting to walk down the driveway towards the sidewalk. Risa readjusts her backpack at the mention of grades. ** (15) Nanami: yeah, yeah, your mom will be quite happy at least. should make up for the lateness of dinner ** (13) Risa giggles. "I doubt it. I've the feeling I'm looking at being grounded for tomorrow night by being in late tonight. Although Father might calm her down once he getsin from work." Risa leads the way down the sidewalk. ** ** (15) Nanami follows, carrying an umbrella just in case. is wearing a fairly simple dress and shoes that while not sneakers, are plenty comfortable enough for walking. her purse is small, and she reailly isn't 'gussied up' by most standards :L) ** (15) Nanami: I guess you're wondering what happened with Kenji back at the gym, why I was mad at him. ** (13) Risa leads along quietly, making off handed comments about buildings or such. Finally, she leads you to a small park. A simple looking building stands in the middle, a small shrine, if one could even call it that with a well tended tree garden. Risa looks up and nods. "Well, under the situation I figured I'd wait until you were willing to talk." ** (15) Nanami: I would have talked right away if we could have, but we never really had the chance. ** (13) Risa nods, pausing near a medium sized tree. "Well, now we have the chance, if you're willing to talk, I'll listen." ** (15) Nanami: back there at the gym, I was scared Risa-chan. very scared. I didn't like the looks of those things, and I didn't know what was going to happen to anyone. I managed to mess up the one only because I was afraid for Seiko (15) Nanami: so when Kenji appeared, I ran to him, I was so glad to see him, and I told him what happened, then hugged him, just trying to get some comfort (15) Nanami: and he then says "Nanami, let go of me!" ** (13) Risa nods. "I tried to run over there. Some of the folks who I pushed towards Kenji who was holding the exit open..." she clears her throat" got completecly clear. Akane didn't." ** ** (13) Risa crosses her arms. "What would cause him to say that?" ** (15) Nanami: he pushed me away when I needed him. it really hurt (15) Nanami: and I don't think even now he knows what he did ** (13) Risa tilts her head, listening without interruption. ** (15) Nanami: That's kind of why I just gave in to those doctors, I wanted away from him, and I wanted to do something to divert my thoughts. I did mean what I said about the prince coming to us for a reason, but I didn't really want to have experiments done on me (15) Nanami: but it just didn't matter then ** (13) Risa nods, rubbing her own arm where needles had been stuck, still listening. ** (15) Nanami: I'm sure you could tell I wasn't real happy with him when I answered the phone, but as you said before, guys can be SO dense! (15) Nanami: but then he asked me to the dance, and I couldn't help it, it's what I wanted for so long, I just had to say yes ** (13) Risa ducks her head a little, smiling ** ** (13) Risa nods. "About time." she says. ** (15) Nanami: I don't know what got him to do it, but he said he apologized, though he didn't say what for, somehow he must have finally figured out that he had done something wrong (15) Nanami: and he just added that in. though he did have the nerve to say "wear something nice" as if I wouldn't! as if I hadn't had the dress made days ago! (13) Risa: As if he couldn't remember the mall... ** (13) Risa giggles a little. ** (15) Nanami: yeah (15) Nanami: Oh, then Tashiro came in while you were on the phone, saying something about you needing to ask Kuro to the dance. and I was like What? why should he? (15) Nanami: (she) ** (13) Risa nods. "Yeah, why? You know that anytime I go to a dance I don't have a date. It's just the way things are, and I'm fine with it. I'm not there to be seen with someone, I'm there to have fun with my friends who are there." ** (15) Nanami: well, Kuro does seem like the kind of guy that would be good for that in some ways, I don't think he wants to go with anyone either. but I don't think he ants to go at all (15) Nanami: (I get more typos at the end as I lose sight of the letters) ** (13) Risa nods her head. "I understand that feeling. There are things I don't want to go to, no doubt, but these kind of special events I do want to, even if I'm going on my own." ** (13) Risa: ((same here)) (15) Nanami: still, you hardly know the guy (13) Risa: And what I know of him isn't really all that inticing. (15) Nanami: and out of the blue he wants you to ask him out? (15) Nanami: just seemed wrong to me ** (13) Risa shakes her head. ** (13) Risa: "Don't worry. It's not Sadie Hawkins, so no problem there." (15) Nanami: and I can imagine how it would go with Yayoi (15) Nanami: not that she's not going to try to mess things up anyways ** (13) Risa nods, although her eyes turn a little sad at the mention of Yayoi. ** (15) Nanami: I still find it hard to believe she's going there with Tashiro ** (13) Risa nods. "It fits her, but yet it doesn't." She sighs. ** (15) Nanami: or that Tashiro was going to ask Kuro's little sister out, is she even in high school? ** (13) Risa shakes her head. "I can't say for sure. Although it did stop me in the hallway when he talked to her. And is why I went ahead to class." ** (15) Nanami: Oh, yeah, what was with those guys outside the school? they seemed to have it in for you in particular (13) Risa: They are the ones who attacked Hikaru and one of his old girlfriends at the beginning of the year. I was walking home late from track practice and came across them pouding on Hikaru in one way..." she pounds fiist to palm" and her another..." she pauses, making no motions, thinking that would be plain enough. "I interrupted their 'fun'. Busted one guys jaw., I think. The other two kinda bumbled their way through the fight, I didn't hit them." (13) Risa: "Some good samaritans happened by and ran them off and helped me take Hikaru and his girl to the clinic. I had a wrap on my hand that weekend, too. Making me think about maybe getting some gloves." (15) Nanami: oh my... and now they are back? why aren't they in prison? ** (13) Risa shrugs. ** (13) Risa: "As long as I can avoid them and prevent them from hurting anyone else, things are even." (15) Nanami: I could probably ask Tashiro to dig up some info on them (13) Risa: "They're called the Models, according to Hikaru. (13) Risa: " (15) Nanami: odd name. seems like something that would have a rep of some kind. *files that info away for future reference* (15) Nanami: so what happened near portal thing? I was too far to see it ** (13) Risa nods and glances at her watch. "Sensei should be done with tea. Shall we?" ** ** (15) Nanami nods ** (15) Nanami: Hai ** (13) Risa relays the story as they walk about the confrontation with the american 'Doctors' and Kuro having the urge to pound several faces. Also that she agreed with him on some level. ** (15) Nanami: yeah, I think if they had taken Seiko, we might have felt much the same ** (13) Risa nods. "Most certainly." ** (15) Nanami: (still can't believe Elton let me save her without making a roll, which I probably would have botched :D) ** (13) Risa leads you through the small tree garden to the five story structure that stands in the center. A simple hand made sign hangs above a doorway reading "Togawa Shrine" Risa stops at the door and removes her shoes, placing them on the mat beside the door. ** ** (15) Nanami removes her shoes as well ** (13) Risa: ((I would have thought running at 5X Risa might have been able to maybe dive and make the catch. I guess he figured the way you were rolling you deserved a break.)) (15) Nanami: Thrown Weapons Skill Check: [1d20+0] => [6,0] = (6) (15) Nanami: (yeah, the dice hate me) ** (13) Risa steps in and and stops at a cabinet on the right. An old wooden cabinet. She opens the door and takes out a cloth jacket, coarse and plain and puts it on. Her name is stitched, again by hand, over the right side of the chest of the jacket. She ties it off with the simple cloth sash and takes a deep breath. "Sensei is up on the third floor. We'll have to walk up there using the staircase . Ready?" ** (13) Risa: Thrown Weapons Skill Check: [1d20+1] => [16,1] = (17) (15) Nanami: sure, it's just a staircase right? (13) Risa: (kah-zing! Risa woulda been good.) (15) Nanami: (( yeah )) ** (13) Risa smiles. "Yeah, just a staircase." She leads you around the corner, pausing to bow to a man who looks to be in his fifties, who greets her by name. He bows politely to Nanami, with a general greeting and wish of good health. A few steps further down the hallway a wooden staircase, almost like a ladder, rises up from this floor to the next. Without hesitation, Risa begins to climb. ** ** (15) Nanami returns the greeting to the old man before following Risa up the stairs ** ** (13) Risa turns at the top of the stair, waiting for Nanami to join her. "Jinbo has been here for over thirty years. He is one of Sensei's most trusted friends. He oversees the day to day operations of the shrine. ** (13) Risa: " (15) Nanami: Ah. how long has your sensei been here? and the shrine itself? ** (13) Risa smiles as she leads Nanami down the carpeted floor. "Sensei is very old, although he's never admitted an age. He was here when Jinbo arrived. This shrine, small though it may be, I'm told is near 200 years old. She stops at another set of similar stairs and leads Nanami up. ** ** (15) Nanami follows "Stairs are pretty steep. though I guess that helps keep everyone in shape" ** ** (13) Risa nods. "Certainly does. Works leg muscles that most people aren't even aware exist. Speaking of which..." Risa leads you around a corner to the left, past what looks like small bar and into an area where you see every kind of training apparatus you can imagine. Weights, bags, benches, dummies, wooden props of any size and shape and lots of open space with grass mats on them. The air stirrs the drapperies. ** (15) Nanami: wow, you use all of those? ** (13) Risa giggles. "Hardly. That bag right there..." she points to a speed bag hanging from a wooden platform near a bench. "That's the one that got me in the eye. Most of the work I do is on these mats. THe only bokken I can use is that katana one, which I don't understand why. I'm told not to use the others." ** (15) Nanami: Hmm, there must be a reason. maybe it's time to ask what that reason is! ** (15) Nanami waves a hand "Yeah, yeah, I know you don't want to offend your sensei. so maybe I'll ask" ** ** (13) Risa shrugs. "I did. I was told katana was all I needed to learn." her voice gets a little lower and softer, putting on a little age "Not everything in the universe is a great mystery to be solved, young one. That is the greatest mystery of them all." ** (15) Nanami: well, I think knowing how to use whatever is around would be useful, not that I could do it, but if you can use one kind of stick or sword, why not others? (15) Nanami: what if you find yourself in a place with a lot of swords and none of them are katanas? ** (13) Risa shrugs. "Who knows. Chosokabe Sensei is a blademaster, I was told." ** ** (13) Risa chuckles. "That's when I use the Kung Fu I'm learning." She sighs and quickly clears up her face, going stiff. A voice comes over Nanami's shoulder. "Indeed, Chosokabe Sensei is a blademaster. And one of the best." The pleasant face hovers about six feet off the ground. The man is average build, perhaps in his 40's. He wears a jacket similar to Risa's, although his border and thrding are blue and silver in color. ** (13) Risa: ((Sorry, starting to flag a little bit here so the details are getting harder to type up I'll make it through.)) (15) Nanami: (( ok )) ** (15) Nanami bows "greetings, I am Matsuki Nanami" ** (15) Nanami: so you know how to use all the blades there are? (15) Nanami: (( yes, that's Nanami, always asking questions )) ** (13) Risa bows, the man bows back to each in turn. "Chosokabe Iwami. Welcome to our humble Temple, Miss Matsuki. I see you are getting the grand tour from Risa?" ** Attempting to assign the role of GM to (15) Nanami... Attempting to assign the role of PLAYER to (15) Nanami... (15) Nanami: Hai! she has been most helpful in guiding me through this establishment ** (13) Iwami bows, eyeing Risa out of the corner of one eye. "She is one of Togawa Sensei's most willing students. If she applied herself to the katana as she does the Tiger she would advance much faster. ** (15) Nanami: oh, I'm sure she would love to devote more time to the blade, but when she is not permitted to carry one most of the time, does it not seem more practical to learn the unarmed ways first? ** (13) Iwami chuckles low, the sound of a man who has heard the same question a million times. "Indeed one would think, but the true key is to entertwine the two, like the branches of a tree, until the two become one." ** (15) Nanami: um, ok. I can't say I understand it, but I yield to your superior knowledge of these things ** (13) Iwami smiles, a warm almost fatherly smile. "You yourself might make a good Oshiego." he looks at Risa. "Togawa Sensei just finished tea, so he should be free. I'm waiting for a Oshiego for Tsai to show up." he bows to each girl in turn. "I will trust you to the capable hands of Risa." he says before turning and walking away. ** ** (15) Nanami looks at Risa "a what?" ** ** (13) Risa relaxes a little. "Student." ** ** (13) Risa tilts her head "Really is more like apprentice in application. Not student like us at school." ** ** (15) Nanami giggles "me? with my concentration? I'd be kicked out the first day!" ** ** (13) Risa smiles. "He is a very kind man. Hard to believe he could carve an assailant like a well cooked goose with a flick of the wrist. We'd best not keep Togawa Sensei waiting." ** ** (15) Nanami found the F12 macro key ** ** (15) Nanami nods "lead on, oh might student of the ways martial" *giggles at the end* ** (13) Risa: ((In truth, Risa is supposed to inherit the family Katana, although she has no idea how to use the real thing. The practice is because w hen I get some oints I'm going to buy her a level of one handed melee katana)) ** (13) Risa shakes her head, leading Nanami down a shallow hallway to a rather plain looking door. She knocks three times and an elderly voice answers. "Enter Oshiego Risa." ** ** (13) Risa glances at Nanami. ** (15) Nanami: may I enter as well? ** (13) Risa opens the door and leads the way in. A man kneels in the middle of the room. Looking him over it's hard to tell how old he is. He is kneeling down on his knees, hands tucked up the large sleeves of his robe. A scattering of snow white hair covers his head. His eyes are open and he nods. "Please, Miss Matsuki." he olooks to a grouping of grass mats before him. ** ** (15) Nanami bows before entering and kneeling on one of the mats, sitting on her heel ** ** (15) Nanami thinks "yes, I did notice you knew my name, but that doesn't mean much, you must know who Risa's friends are" ** ** (13) Risa settles onto a mat, legs crossed and places her hands, palms down on her knees. The room is quiet for almost a minute when the old man speaks. "I sense your spirit is troubled, Risa. There is the same disturbance in you, as well, young one." His face is turned to face Nanami, but his eyes are not open. ** ** (15) Nanami nods anyways, but waits for Risa to speak ** (15) Nanami: (( Nanami is kneeling rather than sitting because she is wearing a dress )) ** (13) Risa takes a deep breath, she speaks in that calm, focused voice. "Togawa Sensei. That is why we have come to you today. We face difficult decisions in our future, the cause of which we do not fully understand." ** (15) Nanami: Hai ** (13) Togawa Sensei turns his head to face Risa as she speaks, it then centers between the two girls, as if staring at the wall. "You wish me to advise you on what to do? I will share my wisdom with you as much as is possible." the head turns, aiming at Nanami. "You are surrounded by uncertainty and turmoil, young one. You bear much that should not be placed on one so young. Yet there is one flow above the others that troubles you most" ** (15) Nanami: Just one? hmm... I am not sure... I worry about leaving my mother to look into this, but I have to admit I am curious about my potential. the one I... well... I guess... I love... is going there, but I do have a duty to my family ** (13) Togawa Sensei nods. "And this one thread is composed of all of these, and more. Your duty to family is important, so is the one you care for very deeply. As for your potential there is much there, much that if brought forward would make you a most formidable presence. You have the temprament to handle such power, but you must be careful. I sense great hesitation. Uncertainty. You've a sibling who isn't honoring his family, or who is currently, as they say, on the outs, with the family? ** ** (15) Nanami nods "yes, but there is more to him than they know. I just can't tell them what I know, that he brings no dishonor, it's part of the cover. It is strange to actually know the secret now, when I've just always believed there had to be more ** (15) Nanami: and Miho will be there, she at least gets the grades they wanted from me, and is likely to bring the honor they wish. I suppose it really isn't as complicated as it seems, is it+ (15) Nanami: (( you weren't there for the last session, when Tashiro revealed that is is an agent for the IAS )) (15) Nanami: (( that is why he has the ferrari, which can fly too )) (15) Nanami: (( and yes, it is very hard for Nanami not to spill the beans to Risa even though she's only known for a day )) (16) Togawa Sensei (enter): 01:40 Attempting to assign the role of PLAYER to (16) Togawa Sensei... (15) Nanami: Booting '(13) Togawa Sensei' from server... (13) Togawa Sensei (exit): 01:41 ** (16) Togawa Sensei nods. "Your uncertainty is not as chaotic as it is soul intensive. I cannot and will not simply tell anyone what to do. In most cases, as Risa well knows, I simply help you interpret the signs. Risa has asked me on more than one occasion for guidence to help a friend." ** (15) Nanami: (( I tried to copy and paste my responses before, not sure what all you saw, but I can't copy )) (16) Togawa Sensei: I saw the comments about Tashiro, that's the last I saw. (15) Nanami: (( including the part about her finding it hard not to tell Risa even though she's only known for a day? )) (16) Togawa Sensei: ((Didn't get that part. Is that why you reacted the way you did when he said he was going to ask Suzume to the dance?)) (15) Nanami: (( well, I had wondered if he meant Risa, since I didn't know the name of Kuro's sister )) ** (16) Togawa Sensei turns his head from Nanami to Risa. The eyes finally open, soft brown eyes, yet sharp. "And you, Risa. Your own issue is similar to your friends, and yet different. " ** (16) Togawa Sensei: ((Kuro's Sister was in the school hallway, he called her suzume, which is why Risa's eyebrows did the jump. ** (16) Risa nods. "Hai, Togawa Sensei." ** (15) Nanami: (( I know )) (16) Togawa Sensei: "You are torn between the desire to help others, the desire to help your friend and the fact that what you face scares you." ** (16) Risa takes a slow breath. It exhales even slower. "Hai, Sensei. The issue involves another dimension. You see..." she relates the occurances of the morning up until the departure from the hospital. ** ** (15) Nanami thinks "Risa really is afraid too? She never seemed that way" ** ** (16) Togawa Sensei turns his eyes, open, on Nanami now. The look is that of a jewler apprasing a fine ring or bracelet. ** ** (15) Nanami tries to meet his gaze, but has to blink once in a while ** ** (16) Togawa Sensei turns back to Risa. "You face a decision you do not know how to make. There are three human lives on the other side of that portal that could need your help. Yet you are uncertain if thereis anything that you can truly do. It is true that your Ki is very strong. Not only around your legs but around your entire life. Your life will be irreversiably changed by this decision. You feel that if you go and fail, your death will have no meaning. If you go and succeed how will the world have changewhen you return? If you choose to stay, you might be branded as a coward, and you would forever question yourself if your friend went into danger and you did not go. Yet you cannot really talk her out of it." ** ** (16) Risa simply bows her head. ** (15) Nanami: so you feel my decision is already made? ** (16) Togawa Sensei looks at Nanami. "Your decision can be made. You understand your obsticles, young one. Your paths are clear, if not entertwined in a most interesting pattern." ** (15) Nanami: crud, you know, I think you are right. *sigh* ** (16) Togawa Sensei looks back at Risa. "And in some ways, entertwined with Risa's as well." ** (15) Nanami: oh, in many ways, we are best friends! ** (16) Togawa Sensei takes a breath and rattles off a speech that would rival one from one of your school teachers. This rant is aimed squarely at Risa, who remains seated, calm and her eyes closed, position not changing the entire time. Finally, it ends..."And so Master Sakakibara learned that the completion of his journey was not the answer to his questions, it was the journey itself. Do you understand, Risa?" ** (15) Nanami: dang it Risa, I hate to say it, but we have to go. I can't let Kenji go without knowing what's happening with him, and you know that you have always wanted to test yourself. not to mention keep me safe ** (16) Togawa Sensei looks at Nanami. He winks. "Either of your choices will be a great test to yourself, Risa. You must stay true to yourself, your beliefs and convictions. You are here at your fathers request, but at your agreement. I and the others here have taken you in as if youy were our own flesh and blood. We have seen the character within you. Your friend here, she knows you as well. Which challenge will you take, young one? The challenge to grow, take a chance? Or the challenge to stay safe and continue on the path you have set for so long? You are at a crossroads Seito Risa. Whichever path you choose must be with your heart, mind, body and soul as one." ** ** (15) Nanami actually stays silent and waits for Risa to reply ** ** (16) Risa sits quietly, her breathing gets erratic for several moments, slowly it settles down again and her eyes flutter open. She turns and looks at Nanami. "Hai, Sensei. It was a challengee to change my life to come here, to learn from you and all of the Sensei here. What I looked at as helping me focus myself, make myself more sure. Now I see that it was preperation for the unforseen challenge. Now that challenge is before me and yes, I am scared. I may not have been this scared at any point in my life. But I'm not facing this one alone, there are others counting on me. Friends and enemies alike.. Arigato, Sensi." ** (16) Risa: (sensei) ** (16) Togawa Sensei nods. "You see that path, you knew the other. Now it falls to you to choose." ** ** (15) Nanami thinks "doesn't she know yet? I didn't know coming here, but know I do, she has to know that an ordinary life isn't for her!" ** ** (16) Risa bows, touching her forehead to the mat before her. "If I do not return, Sensei, know that I have followed your teachings to the best of my ability, right to the end." ** (16) Togawa Sensei: "You must speak with your father. Tell him what is happening. He will give you something to help you on your journey." ** (15) Nanami thinks "He has to be talking to Risa, there's no way my dad would even let me go if he knew where it was leading!" ** ** (16) Togawa Sensei bows to Nanami. "I hope I have helped you identify your paths, young ones." he bows to Risa. "The fates should bring us together again. I look forward to your stories on that day." ** ** (15) Nanami bows "arigato, you have been a great help, I am most pleased to have made your acquaintance" ** ** (16) Risa rises slowly back to a kneeling position. "That day will be a cause for great joy, Sensei." ** (16) Togawa Sensei: "The honor is mine, young one. Remember what has happened here. Your destinies are destined to be entertwined." ** (15) Nanami nods ** ** (16) Risa stands up, clearly fighting an urge. The old man smiles. "Just this once, young one." Risa steps forward an hugs the old man gently around the shoulders. "It warms an old mans heart to know there tare those among the youth of today who will listen to the wisdom of the ages." ** ** (15) Nanami seeing that Risa does it, will also do so ** ** (16) Risa takes off her jacket and painstakingly folds it. She kneels down again, placing it before Togawa Sensei. His eyes are closed again but he speaks. "It will be awaiting your return. You have a place here." ** ** (16) Risa bows one last time and turns to the door, opening it. She holds it, waiting for Nanami to pass through. ** ** (15) Nanami takes the hint and exits ** ** (16) Risa follows out, closing the door and leans her back against the wall, her head down. "Well, now we know..." ** ** (15) Nanami nods "I did not think it would be so clear, but your sensei really had a way of sorting things so that the answer revealed itself much faster than I could have imagined ** (16) Risa: Will save: [1d20+2] => [2,2] = (4) ** (16) Risa nods, an audible sniff followed by a wipe of the nose with a sleeve. "That he does." ** (15) Nanami: I know, it's not going to be easy, we have to figure out something to tell those we leave behind so as to minimize the pain ** (16) Risa looks up, tears flowing down her cheeks, not something many people have seen. She turns facing down the hallway and puts her arm around Nanami's shoulders. ** ** (15) Nanami hugs Risa, tears welling up as well ** ** (16) Risa hugs Nanami and then starts to guide her down the hallway. "Field trip..." she says in a cracking voice.....*fade out* ** (15) Nanami: wow, I guess I hadn't thought a reason for them to go was to be arrived at that easily (16) Conroy: Well, it was simply using Togawa Sensei to do some mumbo jumbo that would give us a reason to accept it in character. Mostly, he just likes to make people sound out their problems and find their own solutions, but it makes him look good. |
| cancerousmango02-26-07, 08:30 PM | Illegible garbage. The hell? That is the worst format for anything ever. And did you have to quote what was apparently a group attempt to translate À la recherche du temps perdu from French to Russian to Klingon? TL;DR (http://encyclopediadramatica.com/index.php/TL%3BDR) |

| yossarius02-27-07, 04:00 PM | While I'm not an ex-film major, I did spend most of my childhood in local community theatre, so I have a decent idea what a screenplay should look like (not the same as a script, but still somewhat similar). I found Sir Elton's "screenplays" unintelligible. It hurt my eyes to look at it. |
| Hopeless02-27-07, 05:34 PM | Correct me i'm wrong but did you mean something like this? Its getting late into the evening as rainfall streams down within the confines of Sharn's interior. A group of travellers wandering towards a meeting with an erstwhile contact stumble through the shower that rains down upon them turning every bridge spanning the massive confines of the city like another newborn waterfall. A cry catches their attention as somewhere ahead on one of these waterdrenched bridges a solitary figure falls as another leaps over the edge out of sight into what must be the depths below. They run forward seeking an answer to this quandry as... Sorry you did say movie didn't you? |
