drunkenewok 10-04-05, 12:04 PM	I've built a wiki for personal use, and it has a fair chunk of info in it. However, it would be on very shaky legal ground to release the wiki for public use due to copyright concerns. If someone can get explicit permission from WotC to publish and maintain an Eberron Wiki, I'd be more than willing to open mine up or contribute my efforts to a community. Unfortunately, I doubt such permission will be secured. Honestly, would you go buy a new WotC expansion book for Eberron if you knew that a substantial portion of its content would be posted on a Wiki within a few days or weeks of release? WotC is in the business of making money, and while it would be an invaluable fan tool, it doesn't make business sense to allow such a venture. You might get some limited permission, but it might be so limited as to prevent it from being useful. Basically, if someone else does the petitioning and legal-legwork, I'm willing to supply technical knowledge and data entry...

I know I'd like to have an actual index for the books to make it easier to find what page certain information is on. It just seems lazy not to put indexes in resource books, and that's exactly what's been happening with the Eberron books lately...

Redneck Hero 10-04-05, 08:34 PM	That Wiki was bandied about quite a bit on this board when it was first written up, so, Wizards, in all likelihood, knows about it and would have done something if they felt any information contained in it infringed on their copyright.
hackersword 10-05-05, 01:08 PM	A wiki just for the AKB thread would be invaluable as there is no search functionality right now. Could that content alone be freely put on a wiki and cross referenced, indexed , so someone could quickly find an answer to a question? Even with the closed FAQ/summary of the active thread , its monumental job to go through all of it and find if a question had previously been asked.
drunkenewok 10-05-05, 10:07 PM	I'm working on a categorized version of the AKB threads... I'm about 15% of the way through, and hopefully will include a hyperlinked html version where you can visit any particular category quickly. If there's sufficient interest, I could setup the wiki software so others can help edit. One of the WizO's (Paradox, I think) suggested that it be done, though for download instead of a separate website, so it's at least got half-approval... As for indexes, I'm in progress on an NPC index. You can check the thread (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=505898) or just download the spreadsheet (http://toosigma.com/rpg/EberronNPCs.xls). (It's got the ECS, S:CoT, and FN at present, Explorer's Handbook in progress, MoE coming soon)
