| Bodger05-28-07, 10:59 AM | I am not sure if this topic has risen before but does anyone know who and what are the Iconic characters that are in the double page splash scenes that appear in the eberron books? For Example: ECS Female Shifter Warforge Dwarf Articicfer Human W/Bow Sharn: Warforged (flying) Female Rogue explorer? Cleric of the Host? male Shifter 11 Gnolls Sorcerer/Wizard/Shaman Has anybody found the stats for these guys?? Bodger |
| tallric_kruush05-28-07, 01:05 PM | There are no stats I'm of which I'm aware. Creating them might be an interesting way to come up with NPC adventuring groups for your PCs to encounter. Edit: Oddly enough, my post is listed on neither the Eberron HQ screen, nor the Eberron General page. Yet, here it is in the thread. :thinks: Ahh, five minute lag-time... |

Aren't these the iconics from the character classes chapter in the ECS? No stats, just class and level (i.e. standard Eberron). Thondred (6th level dwarf artificer) Corrash (4th level halfling barbarian) Vanira (9th level gnome bard) Kuduth (4th level half-elf cleric of Sovereign Host) Janar (9th level half-orc druid) Azm (6th level warforged fighter) Kasha (2nd level human monk) Thiera (2nd level human paladin) Halharan (4th level kalashtar psion) Sarav (6th level elf ranger) Tam (4th level changeling rogue) Ural d'Orien (4th level human sorcerer) Baristi (6th level shifter wizard) Oh yeah, the gnolls do have stats (http://www.systemreferencedocuments.org/35/sovelior_sage/monstersG.html#gnoll). |

| DBlizzard05-28-07, 04:56 PM | However Thondred goes on to attain Epic level in PGtE (pg.17) Well, Eberron has been out 3 years next month (1 1/2 years when PGtE was released). I hope they gained levels ;) |
| mhacdebhandia05-28-07, 06:10 PM | The characters from the Wayne Reynolds splash panels aren't the characters used in the examples for each class in the Eberron Campaign Setting. It seems pretty easy to identify their class and race, though, except in a few cases where a character's race is very hard to pick. |
| tallric_kruush05-28-07, 09:38 PM | Aren't these the iconics from the character classes chapter in the ECS? No stats, just class and level (i.e. standard Eberron). Some of them pretty clearly are those characters. Azm, Thondred, and Baristi seem apparent, to me, in the ECS spread. I assume the very human-looking (or at the most half-elf) Ranger is Sarav. His backstory suggests as much. The goatee, though, doesn't look very elvish at all. |
| mhacdebhandia05-29-07, 05:17 AM | Yes, I think that the shifter wizard is Baristi (and she reappears, drawn by another artist, right before the sample adventure "The Forgotten Forge"), and the dwarf artificer is probably Thondred, but I don't know if the warforged is supposed to be Azm - Azm isn't described as having an armblade in his little vignette. I don't think the archer is Sarav. That's pretty clearly a human. He reappears - with much lighter hair - in the splash painting of the Player's Guide to Eberron, again with Baristi the shifter wizard and the warforged with the armblade (who could be Azm). Okay, so a list, leaving out Dragonmarked because none of the characters there reappear elsewhere as far as I can tell. These are just my guesses as to race and class: Warforged fighter (Azm?) with armblade - Eberron Campaign Setting, Player's Guide to Eberron Female shifter wizard (Baristi?) - Eberron Campaign Setting, Player's Guide to Eberron Male dwarf artificer (Thondred?) - Eberron Campaign Setting, Player's Guide to Eberron, Magic of Eberron Male human ranger - Eberron Campaign Setting, Player's Guide to Eberron, Eyes of the Lich Queen Warforged wizard - Sharn: City of Towers, Explorer's Handbook, Magic of Eberron, Secrets of Xen'drik Female human rogue - Sharn: City of Towers, Explorer's Handbook, Magic of Eberron, Secrets of Sarlona, Voyage of the Golden Dragon Male elf (Valenar) ranger - Explorer's Handbook Female gnome cleric - Explorer's Handbook Warforged paladin - Faiths of Eberron Male human cleric - Faiths of Eberron Female elf (Aereni) cleric - Faiths of Eberron Kalashtar soulknife - Faiths of Eberron Female elf (Aereni) sorcerer - Five Nations, Secrets of Xen'drik Male human paladin - Five Nations, Magic of Eberron, Secrets of Xen'drik Female human monk - Five Nations Male changeling rogue - Five Nations Male shifter barbarian - Sharn: City of Towers, Secrets of Sarlona, Secrets of Xen'drik, Voyage of the Golden Dragon Male human soulknife - Secrets of Sarlona, and incidentally Complete Psionic - I don't necessarily think he's a xeph, as some have suggested Female dwarf cleric - Sharn: City of Towers Male shifter barbarian - Grasp of the Emerald Claw Female half-elf fighter - Grasp of the Emerald Claw, Eyes of the Lich Queen Female halfling ranger - Grasp of the Emerald Claw Female elf (Valenar) fighter - Shadows of the Last War Male human barbarian - Shadows of the Last War (also the featured figure on the "cover" of the DM's screen; the screen itself replicates the Grasp of the Emerald Claw figures) Male halfling fighter - Whispers of the Vampire's Blade Warforged fighter - Whispers of the Vampire's Blade Male dwarf artificer - Whispers of the Vampire's Blade Male kalashtar soulknife - Voyage of the Golden Dragon Warforged fighter - Forge of War Copper dragon - Dragons of Eberron :P |
| mhacdebhandia05-29-07, 05:18 AM | The blonde female human rogue from the cover of the Explorer's Handbook is the clear winner, by the way. :) |
| Nived05-29-07, 03:25 PM | I like the badass old man cleric on the cover of Faiths of Eberron. Actually that whole spread is pretty cool. |
| Londhiel05-30-07, 08:10 AM | i would need statistics for Book cannith warfoged wizard from MoE ....please |
| Vharuck05-30-07, 04:32 PM | I always thought that warforged with the crystal-tipped staff was a psion... |
| mhacdebhandia05-31-07, 09:28 PM | I always thought that warforged with the crystal-tipped staff was a psion... It's an easy assumption to make, of course, but it seems that Wayne Reynolds just used artistic license. After all, crystals aren't exactly the exclusive province of psionic characters. |
| tallric_kruush06-02-07, 02:05 PM | i would need statistics for Book cannith warfoged wizard from MoE ....please I just picked-up Magic of Eberron and Explorer's Handbook yesterday for less than $18 total!! Gotta love used bookstores. To the point, I was happy to see the artwork featuring Book and giving him a name. It made me smile.:) It's a good name for a Warforged Wizard. It also immediately made me think of Firefly, though... had to drag my brain back to Eberron. |
