| yossarius03-31-08, 09:18 AM | Because I'm a game geek, I'm rendering the continent of Khorvaire as a playable map in Civilization 3. I'm not building a scenario yet, just drawing the map right now. If anyone here is familiar with Civ3Edit (I can't believe I'm the only person here who is), any recommendations on how to represent the Mournland, or the Demon Wastes? Or any other ideas on how to build the scenario, once I get to it? I will include a link to the file shortly. |
| Optimator03-31-08, 09:42 AM | Um, I can only assume using the desert with the occasional fallout tile would be your best bet. |
| OctaviusIII04-01-08, 02:11 AM | Mournlands = fallout Demon Wastes = desert mountains Well, in my opinion. |
| nagasaki04-01-08, 11:15 AM | I don't know how you would do this but if you make it (or make it into a scenario) you should send me a link to down load it from. If its ok I will PM you with my email. |
| yossarius04-02-08, 01:57 AM | Jpg (http://i299.photobucket.com/albums/mm286/yossarius523/map-3.jpg) of map so far. Feel free to point out any obvious mistakes I've made. |
| OctaviusIII04-02-08, 02:46 AM | Well, beyond the missing East half of the continent (I'm assuming it's unfinished?), I think the forests, despite what the book shows, should stretch right up to the mountains. As well, the plains should be grasslands, too. Now, I haven't played Civ3 in a while - is there a fallout tile that could be used for the Mournlands? |
| yossarius04-02-08, 03:29 AM | 1) Yes, the map is unfinished. 2) No, there is no fallout tile in civ3. No desert mountains, either. Those are in 4. I played 4 for a while, but gave up because me ancient computer couldn't handle it. |
| yossarius04-05-08, 04:41 AM | So, i represented the Demon Wastes as desert covered with craters, and the Mournland as desert covered with pollution. |
| yossarius04-22-08, 10:11 AM | I'm starting to build the scenario to go with the map, with custom wonders and technologies (I'm saving custom units for last). Anyone care to make suggestions (especially technologies)? | Paulon04-22-08, 04:00 PM | Discovery of the various 'secret' techniques currently held by specific groups would be logical, like elemental binding and creation of warforged. But those are pretty obvious. Mobile fortresses like Argonel? Mass animation of undead, and enhancement of units by making their personnel undead? Development of ordinary fireworks into non-magical bombardment makes sense too. Almost anyone can do it, and with much less training and cost than a magewright needs to make a magical version. Going as far as guns might be stretching the feel of the setting, but the fireworks to rockets jump is a reasonable extension IMO. |
| yossarius05-14-08, 11:29 AM | :bump: Still working on it. |
| yossarius07-25-08, 03:01 AM | :bump: Took a break for a while (learning to make chainmail is time-intensive), but I recently updated the map pic (http://i299.photobucket.com/albums/mm286/yossarius523/map-3.jpg). |
| Nerdicus07-25-08, 09:48 PM | Next what you need to do is put in the appropriate nations and put it on auto run and see how things go! Give yourself Karnath, Aundair, Thrane, Breland, cyre, and....maybe Droaam, and see how it goes. |
| yossarius07-26-08, 09:35 AM | Wow. That's, like, much harder than what I planned on doing. Just making the scenario is really hard. I agree it would be interesting to watch, but that would be a huge amount of work. |
| Thalyon07-26-08, 02:17 PM | It's difficult work but what you are doing is very interesting. Keep it up. I'd like to see it when it's done too. |
| Nerdicus07-28-08, 10:50 PM | Or! you could just have a group fo friends play as each nation! online multiplayer mayham! |
| yossarius07-29-08, 12:40 AM | I added a link to my signature to the zipped game file. Another link here (http://www.geocities.com/yossarius/Civ3EberronMap.zip). It's not finished, of course. |
