darkdragonk 11-26-06, 08:58 PM	I was wondering if anyone else has a misprinted Eberron Campain book? mine is missing pages 128 to 156 but instead has a reprint oft of 176 t0 191 (approximently) i just bought it and was wondering if it is common and what to do with it?

Edymnion 11-26-06, 09:19 PM	Take it back to the store. Show them the duplicate pages, ask to trade it out for an okay copy. Its not that hard. Its a defective copy (and no, it isn't worth anything), they should be happy to change it out for you.

Since yours is a misprint, they will for sure take it back. Just make sure you take off competitor's price tags and the like. And don't bash it up too much. This way you'll make $25. It may seem cold, but I'm all for sticking it to publishers for making horrible mistakes. I should've taken back Sharn: City of Towers because mine didn't have an index.

Does Sharn:CoT have an Index? ...mine doesn't, but honestly I didn't consider that it might be a misprint ...I thought they just didn't bother to create an index for the book (on purpose). /shrug [Sidenote: Returning a book to a store you didn't buy it from isn't "sticking it to the publisher" ...it's "sticking it to the book store" :P ...and he's not trying to "stick it" to anyone, he just wants to exchange a defective product.]
Ishorn 11-27-06, 01:03 PM	You have a copy from the original printing. I thought most people had turned in their copies to Wizards and were given corrected copies. No Sharn does not have an index. Very few of the Eberron books have them and that is a big complaint.
mearrin69 11-28-06, 01:55 AM	I would imagine that WotC would still exchange it for you - regardless of where you got it from. Another game publisher (whom I suppose is against the CoC to name) had a bum print run of their new core books and took them back no questions asked. It was quite good for customer relations. I know I was happy about it - and more loyal to boot. Maybe contact WotC customer service directly? M

Ishorn 11-28-06, 10:08 AM	I had a copy of the Scorpion Clan novel for Legend of Five Rings that was missing 20 pages in the middle of the book. I emailed customer service and they told me to describe the problem and mail them the book. A week later I received an autographed copy of the book with all the pages. I think that Wizards has excellent customer service.

Stores generally return defective products to the manufacturer. As for sticking it to the publisher, it's not that either. The cost of X number of defective books is factored into the price. Printing errors happen, and any publisher knows that and prepares for it.

I'd first try to exchange it with the guy who sold it to you. If he refuses, give him negative feedback, and then take the book to your local bookstore [that sells the ECS] and request an exchange. I don't think they take any loss, except perhaps the time it takes for one of the workers to process it.
