I remember reading somewhere about Eberron newspapers. But I can't find out where!

Anyone have any ideas about gaming newspapers in the world of Eberron? Or even a template format that you can cut/past text. I'm currently sending my PC's through the Forge War and I think it would be interesting to track events via newspaper.

Thanks in advance for the assistance.

Forge War?

I think there's a few named towards the start of Chapter 7 (Life in the World) in the ECS book.

I think there were a few fan-projects to make newspapers, like the Korranberg Chronicle.

Yes, it's a shame it doesn't exist online anymore. They folded because no one was contributing to it and they were doing all the work.

I have almost all the issues on my hard drive, but other's can't download them anymore because they decided to cease production.

"Forge War?"

The forge of war. It talks about the last war. The big 100 year long one.

Interesting. I'm also DMing a Last War game currently. I would let my PCs read about their deeds in Korranberg Chronicle, definitely.

Oh I have more evil plans in mind.

Basically they are part of Aundair and the Breland press is going to be quite harsh with them. They served under General Haldren ir'Brassek, and so I'm going to have them read about how horrible he (and by extension) they are in the eyes of the populace. :D

I Like the Idea My pcs might actually get a little mor into there characters if they see they are being noticed.

Hear is something Im going to try wit my Party.
Im asking for Voluntaries within my groop to wright little articals abut whatever is happening in life in eberron let them exercise there creativeness and I will wright the mane hook articols and fame articols to inspire them. A lot of work but in the end it might just be a fun bit.

I'm also doing this. I keep a record on a website for a review (especially cus my campaign lasts 100 years thruout the last war). I also give XP awards to my PCs for session records from their perspective, say, 0.1XP per word, which proved to be a good motivation.

So does anyone want to try and start a "new" newspaper?

Since my campaign has come to deal with the dwarf clans in Mror Holds, I'm planning to make up a newspaper sponsored by the Aurum, but haven't really got a chance to work on it yet.

So does anyone want to try and start a "new" newspaper? Not really, too much work with no payback at all. Even WotC tried running an "official" Eberron plothook newspaper, it didn't last very long.

But off the top of my head:
The Korrenburg Chronical
The Brelish Ledger
The Throneport Times
The Metrol Gazette

It's not that big, but the Sharn Inquisitive is mentioned a few times throughout the book.

I love this aspect of the setting. The chronicles always seem like a unique opportunity to hand out information in gameplay. I've even used the Sharn Inquisitive articles (by Dave Noonan) in my game.

In fact, my book makes frequent mention of the Korth Sentinel (so there's another idea—a Karrnath-based chronicle, probably with ties to House Deneith) and also introduces the Eberron take on microfiche. :) I had to wonder, how do they archive the Korranburg Chronicle?

I think the Aundairian Scroll was another one from the sourcebooks.
