Eberron Primer? [Archive] - Wizards Community

I have been searching (unsuccessfully) for a brief overview of Eberron to hand out to my players prior to beginning play in the campaign setting. I currently own the ECS and Sharn sourcebooks, and have read both cover to cover in preparation for my campaign.

My players do not know anything about Eberron, aside from basic generalities about the setting. Their understanding of the setting is very limited actually, which is fine I suppose, but I would like to provide them each with a brief overview of the setting to give them an idea of what to expect from this campaign setting.

I *could* suck it up and do it myself, but I was wondering if anyone from these forums knew of an existing basic primer to get the ball rolling. I don't need massive amount of detail, just a few pages to lay the foundation. Short history, overview of the unique races, deities, overview of magic, dragonhouses, etc.

As I said, I am not opposed to writing such a guide myself, but if one already exists, I would like to at least take a look at it before re-inventing the wheel on this one.

I am really looking forward to DM'ing in this setting, and looking for anything out there that might spark my players imagination the way mine was when I read the ECS. Asking each of them to read the ECS prior to play is something I do not want to have to do.

03-13-06, 07:22 PM Well, I'll be honest, I just "discovered" Eberron.

I've been a Forgotten Realms person myself, but a friend of mine loaned me his books, and I have to say, I went out and got all the core books for the setting. Now, I'm just looking to play!

03-14-06, 08:07 AM I started something like this for my players but I gave up after a while, there is so much it is indeed best to have them read parts of the ECS and the players guide to Eberron. The novels help motivate as well though I think one who knows the ECS will enjoy them better then someone who is new to eberron.

Personally I would like a sort of DM screen like handout with all the houses, services they provide, cost of service, the countries and their nobles, organizations and powergroups, etc...
