I'm not sure if this is the right place to post, but here goes...

One thing I hate about some RTS games is that they overemphasize the importance of micromanagement. Warcraft 3, in my opinion, is the worst in overemphasizing micromanagement...

By the way... I actually LIKE Warcraft 3. I used to play on Battle.net. However, I was bored by Blizzard's focus on micromanagement. I don't like games where the winner is the one who's best at "dancing" injured units out of the battle. Although your strategies do affect your chances of winning, your reflexes play a larger part.

Another thing... I'm not bad at micromanagement. In fact, I'm quite good at it. Within my own circle of friends, I'm the best when it comes to micromanaging in RTS games. Online, I'm above average.

Note: It's a bit hard for me to explain this to non-RTS players, so I'm sorry if it's a bit vague...

So... How will the Eberron RTS tackle the micromanagement issue? If it will be like Warcraft (micro-intensive), then I'll play it for the story, but not for the multiplayer.

P.S.

My current favorite RTS is C&C: Generals. It's not as micro-intensive as Warcraft, and it's not as macro-intensive as Age of Empires. It's somewhere in between...

EDIT: Fixed some typos...

It's really hard to say at this point. Although a few things sound good. You can group your units as squads, who share damage as a whole, making focus-fire pointless in large combats. That's a very good thing. Base-building is looking to be very strategic as well.

Personally, I'm just hoping the unit AI and pathing is up to snuff. It's probably the most complained about aspect of Liquids previous RTS games.

The combat units in Battle Realms reacted on their own when enemies came near. That was pretty cool. The pathing was bad. I'm not sure how they are going to produce units, but in Battle Realms you sent your peasents into training halls to turn them into different combat units. That was a good idea, but required you to select the unit and sent them to the training hall. I hope they can streamline the process.

Well, I don't think this the right board, but anyway, I guess that the fact that you can group your units ,so there's no focus fire, tells alot about was liquid thinks of micromanagement.

Just so you know, both D&D Online and the D&D RTS have forums here.
