I'm basing my own descisions on a few aspects, because unless I do something like this I really have no idea of the middle few. Based on quality of writing: 1. ECS 2. S:Cot 3. FN 4. ExH 5. RoE Based on the fluff: 1. ECS 2. FN 3. ExH 4. S:CoT 5. RoE Based on the crunch: 1. ECS 2. FN 3. RoE 4. ExH 5. S:CoT Based on the book's relevance to most games: 1. ECS 2. FN 3. ExH 4. RoE 5. S:CoT Based on consistency: 1. ECS 2. S:CoT 3. ExH 4. FN 5. RoE Overall score (lower is better): 5 = ECS 13 = FN 17 = ExH 18 = S:CoT 23 = RoE I think thats a fair representation of my opinion. It is without a doubt that the ECS comes top on everything, its one of the best books by WotC alone, let alone an Eberron book. I knew Races of Eberron would come bottom. While I am of the camp that considers it a decent Eberron release, it doesn't quite have the same spark that the other 4 releases do. The other 3 were hard to pick from, I think they are all top-notch releases. Despite the minor errors in FN, I still enjoyed reading it more than S:CoT and the ExH. The trouble I find with Sharn is that, despite it being a very well written book, is that unless your campaign is based solely in Sharn, it wont see a great deal of use. With FN and the ExH, almost every campaign will use ideas and information from within its pages.

Explorers handbook also has great stuff but mostly details the lesser known places which are easier to make things up for. Cheers, Save vs DM

chimpman 08-24-05, 10:56 AM	I'm going to go with Save-vs-DM's ordering of things (with the understanding that I still have to read through the Thrane section of FN and that I don't yet have ExH). As for Sharn not being a typical destination of adventurers I might disagree. At first I felt the same way, but I've already worked up several adventures based there for my Dhakaani PCs ;). Of course as far as they're concerned they may only see the Lower Wards + Cogs, so you're point still holds some water.
Raziel_Brokodar 08-24-05, 11:05 AM	My rankings of the Eberron books... all good in my opinion! :D 1) Eberron Campaign Setting (gee, wonder why) 2) Races of Eberron (people have mixed opinions, I love it...) 3) Five Nations (helpful for info on the 5 nations) 4) Sharn: City of Towers (helpful for just Sharn)
