Eberron SRD? [Archive] - Wizards Community

12-27-06, 07:44 PM Is there such a thing? I don't have immediate access to any of the books and I need to get familiar with the basics of a Eberron setting(of which I know nothing).

Maybe just a general how to page on rolling up and playing an eberron character.

If you want to preview some of the Eberron material, your best bet is to search through the previews and excerpts on the Wizards website.

12-27-06, 09:26 PM No, there is no Eberron SRD, because WotC has no plans on giving their entire setting away for free.

The only reason we have the core rules in the SRD is because of a brilliant bit of business thinking by WotC that allowed other companies to write suppliments for the core material, and hence promote the sale of the core material. The SRD was never intended to be an online replacement for owning the books (hence why the most important parts of the game, namely character creation, are not in the SRD), but as a document listing the specific things that are open source so that other companies would know what they could legally use/referance in their own works.

12-28-06, 01:09 PM That's what I thought, I flipped through a few of the books and I didn't see any mention of the OGL. Thanks for the replies though, I managed to get a copy of the Campaign Setting from a Barnes&Noble just down the way.

I think an Eberron SRD would just have the rules, not the whole setting.
