Hey guys!

I remember a while ago there was talk of some of the members collaborating to make a Wiki of an Eberron encyclopedia. Did this ever materialize?

I was thinking it would be really cool to use the actual Wikipedia engine, I think MediaWiki, to make a streamlined easy interface for all the members to contribute to.

Is this already under the works? That would be phenomenal for geography and maps, too.

Sounds like a pretty cool idea. Remember the big roadblock, though: you can't just post an entire copyrighted work online (or paraphrase it in gory detail, for that matter). So the content must necessarily be stuff that adds to the ECS and uses the ECS as a springboard, rather than just a rehash of what's in the ECS, 5N, &c. It might certainly make a good repository for collating all the information from various official and semi-official sources, at least. Now, there's still a lot you can do, particularly because WotC tends to be reasonable about this rather than overzealous. Take a look at the various Greyhawk websites (such as Canonfire) for ideas of what's okay and what's probably not okay.

The other potential roadblock is, of course, this: folks on the boards disagree on sooooo many different things. This is likely to translate to the wiki as well. Best be prepared for loads of discussion and even some edit wars. Those can be healthy, of course, but, needless to say, don't expect folks to agree on anything ever. ;)
