| turalisj02-01-06, 09:37 PM | No, I'm not talking about any new adventurs or anything that might come out this year, I'm talking about what Eberron would be 1010 years after the Last War has ended. Would there be peace across the four lands? Would the Draconic Prophecies have come to pass? I'm asking these thing sbecause I'm thinking of starting a futuristic Eberron campaign and need help with ideas. That, and I'm bored. :D |
| Raziel_Brokodar02-01-06, 09:39 PM | *blink* :uh-huh: |
| turalisj02-01-06, 09:45 PM | *sighs* I need help combining eberron and d20 future, clear enough for you? |
| Raziel_Brokodar02-01-06, 09:47 PM | That's risky business... instead of Sharn's towers... they'd be Sharn's skyscrappers... with elemental bound hover cars... sounds pretty stange to me... (the whole combining concept) An alternate picture of Eberron years later, a blackened smouldering crater... the wars would consume the world... Daelkyr would break free and devour the world... dunno... planet of the apes; with Daelkyr running the world... |
| twelvedrunkenmonkeyz02-01-06, 10:02 PM | Don't forget the LoBster is now founded a cult dedicated to constructs, Divinity Machina, which also has a large foundation of fleshies scattered throughout its fellowship. They pledge their lives to the minions of the LoBster in hopes that they will be spared from the next genecidal war. Which leads to my next note. Khorvaire never experienced another great war where the kingdoms fought each other. However, their was another great war. One that called on the 5 Nations to band together against LoBster and his legions of WF. Towards the end of the war LoBster had the nations on the ropes, he had seized Zilargo, and their elemental workshops. This helped him lay siege on Sharn where multiple WF commited "suicide bombings" on the city devastating it. LoBster claimed most of the lands of central Khorvaire, and his grip on the continent is choking the life from it. Inside his empire, humanoids are the slaves to the machines, and they are taught only the skills they need. LoBster has not appeared in over 300 years after the battle of Wyrms, where it is said he faced an ancient green dragon in single combat. It is unknown if he lived, but the body of the massive beast is incased in the capital of his empire. |
| ChaoticGood02-01-06, 10:14 PM | I love the Lord of Blades idea... go ahead, you know you just want to steal the Matrix outright for that one! Maybe the rest of the quori arrive and take over the planet... It's nothing but featureless plains of those weird egg-shaped monoliths as far as the eye can see... |
| twelvedrunkenmonkeyz02-02-06, 12:26 AM | 600 years ago the War of the Court began. Instigated by the BoV the Dragons of Argonessen had campaigned against the Undying Court once again. The Valenar who had previously been warrior with the Dhakaani fled their lands to help their brethren. Saddly they have not been able to return. In the land once known as Breland a Daelkyr lord sent his minions from the bowls of darkness into the realm of light. The city of Sharn is twisted and a horrible nightmare. This abrupt disruption is what ceased the unending hordes of the LoBster. On 3 fronts this Daelkry lord fights the united Dhakaani clans, who have ruled Darguun now for some 800 years, the metal monstrosities of LoBster, and the combined forces of Thrane and Aundair. Lhazaar and Q'barra are both said to be under the control of Reidra, both of which seem to actually help in the battle against LoBster and the Daelkyr. so what do you guys think? |

| Beleriphon02-02-06, 12:40 AM | Interesting idea. Something to think about is that Warforged by all accounts are immortal. Heck I could seen some the Brelish warforged eventually being prime minister after that lenghth of time, if no outright ruler of Breland (or its descendant nation). |
| DragonWatcher02-02-06, 01:02 AM | Something else to think about is that I'm not too sure how much technological development would have taken place in Eberron even over the course of millenia. After all, technology isn't nearly as dependable as magic... it tends to be clunky, reliant on some kind of refined fuel, or clumsy wires and gears, and breaks down on a fairly regular basis if not regularly maintained. On the other hand magic is clean, reliable, and in some cases permenant. For these reasons, I can certainly see magical research continuing, but why would bother with mundane technology when magic is available? I just don't think that it would be in the mentality of the people. So, many of the things from d20 Future would need to be redesigned to be magical in nature, instead of technological. BTW... love the "histories". :) |
| turalisj02-02-06, 06:50 AM | That's what I was thinking. Instead of running on gas and even nuckear energy, ships and fighters would use dragonshards as fuel, replenished by psionic energy each time the needed it. |
| Misericordia02-02-06, 07:50 AM | if the magic was replaced from the technology and only few persons can still use it? it seems so obvious but i think its a good idea!!! ;) bye bye.....:D |

"Vote Pierce for Prime Minister!" the Warforged made in 2006 would be scary... imagine warforged being made out of today's materials... and they way they'd look... I have this image of scary shiny metalic 'forged in my mind... (should make a sketch...) |
| ChaoticGood02-08-06, 01:00 AM | So... my group has taken this idea and run full-tilt screaming out of the gate with it... Here's the scenario: Several hundred years after the current setting, agents of The Lord of Blades finally learn how to replicate the event that spawned the Day of Mourning. Having already rebuilt a Creation Forge and an army of Titans, The Lord of Blades delivers a message to the other nations of Khorvaire: Surrender yourselves as slaves, or be destroyed as Cyre was. At first, the missive is shrugged off; but after Karrnath is reduced to a smoking plain of glass, the resolve of the other nations quickly crumbles. Only Thrane dared to stand against the Warforged, and they were slowly crushed beneath the weight of dozens upon dozens of waves of Warforged shock-troops. Meanwhile, in Sarlona, the Inspired have made their move against Adar. Inspired agents have broken many of the seals that cut Eberron off from the Xoriat, and used their new position as gatekeepers to strike deals with powerful lords from that plane. Shored up by reinforcements from Dal Quor and mercenary forces from the Plane of Madness, the Inspired have completely overrun the Kalashtar stronghold. Now, they begin their crusade to hunt down the survivors. If that means invading Khorvaire - so be it. The Dragons of Argonnessen are, for their part, not completely unconcerned with these events. They train their mortal worshippers to defend their continent agains invasion, but offer no help to the common races, who are being crushed between the two new superpowers. The common races in Khorvaire are enslaved for their labor; those in Sarlona are enslaved for their dreams. Those lucky enough to escape flee to Xen'drik, or rally around the banner of the remaining "Common Forces" in Aerenal. There is no time for the luxury of bickering over racial, religious, or national rivalries; all mortals are drawn together in this conflict and must fight side-by-side. The Common Forces are about to send their best and brightest into enemy territory on a daring raid to break the back of the Warforged Empire and blunt the spearhead of the Inspired Crusade. Can the party accomplish the task set before it? We'll begin this weekend! |
| Orion Polaris02-08-06, 01:41 AM | Aw man, my PC's just got through a long spell of being stuck in the past and trying to get home... Now this topic makes me want to send them into the future. I could just imagine the PC's getting to the future, and finding out that the one level 1 Warrior Warforged that the Samurai refused to kill because it was unwholesome for his blade is now an epic level 1 Warrior/Fighter 20/Wizard 10/Eldritch Knight 10/Warforged Juggernaut 10. On second thought...no let him keep the level one Warrior, but have him have massive bonuses to intelligence, wisdom, and charisma for being over 1k old... :) |
| turalisj02-08-06, 05:14 PM | That's the perfect idea CG. Hope don't don't mind if I steal some (or most) of it and change the rest. |
| Wrathamon02-08-06, 06:19 PM | Convert SHADOWRUN. Done. |
| ChaoticGood02-10-06, 12:54 AM | Convert SHADOWRUN. Done. :uh-huh: That is... disturbingly true. |
