(If you belong to the Plaistow RPG club, avert eyes now)

I'm planning on running a 3 week Eberron game with 4 pre-gen characters at our local club and thought I'd open it to RPG.net input.

Basically I've recently read Eberron and dug the kewl stuff, and I've just watched the whole Firefly DVD and now I want to combine the two in a way that displays Eberrons strengths while keeping the old soldier camardrie of Firefly.

The adventure premise is simple- Somebody has hired the ex-Cyrean crew of the airship 'Tranquility' to go back to the Mournlands and recover one of that nations Dragon Bombs. (what I'm calling the device which created the Mournlands)

Crew will contain

-the Captain. Human Cyrean ex-soldier. Mourns his nation but believes the survivors will rise again.
-the Warforged. A hulking barbarian/fighter for combat duties. Loyal to the Captain and acts as sidekick/troublestarter
-the Engineer. Artificier who keeps both the Warforged and Tranquility going. He has a dragonmark he shouldnt have.
-the Plant. Mr Cannith works for mission employer. He is here to make sure a bunch of ex-Cyrean soldiers seeking an ex-Cyrean magic nuke dont do anything silly. He knows a secret .

Encounters-

-crossing the fog line. Being briefly mobbed by a flying cloud of ghosts, howling to escape.
- seeing the Lords of Blades Iron Hold- with its serried ranks of constructs
- Running from said Lord of Blades. possible crash of Tranquility
- crossing some territory and meeting a lonely Living Stinking Cloud Spell. Possibly with the Warforged (which doesnt need to breathe) befriending it and helping it destroy a Living Fireball by tricking it into a rain cloud or Living Ice Storm.
- finding the Dragon Bomb silo; crawling with aberrations and Khyber demons
-sneaking in to recover the Dragon Bomb
- possible escape and/or betrayal. Finale

Ideas/comments/thoughts?

Yeah, I just read a thread about this on RPG.net, and.... Oh, hey SJE! :)

I think what the crew needs is a "River" character. I don't have the book, but I heard that were-creatures are pretty rare in Eberron, and a group(/cabal) of shifters might be interested(/want to experiment) in one. Especially if the were-creature is of a type no one has heard of. Entomanothrope (http://wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/re/20040621a), perhaps? Or some other uncommon breed?

Edit: Hmm, I see the engineer sort of fits the bill with the dragonmark....

sounds great. ****** that I didn't think of it first. Can't wait for the movie to come out.

I'm running this bad boy tomorrow- desperately trying to find a good excel char sheet that supports Forged and Artificers...
