| Zagumus09-02-04, 10:30 AM | Anyone have a good ideas for what any Eldritch machines look like? My Eldritch Machine is going to be a little like the ones that create Warforged but they make Daelkyr Juggernauts (See Below) instead see below for one version. I am planning for it to be powered by the psionic potental of a pool of Gibbering mouthers (made from psionic creatures) and I want a huge opening at the front where Daelkyr Juggernaut come out and an operators panel high up in the air but I don't know how to describe the rest. Anyone got any ideas? Daelkyr Juggernaut (Spider) Large, Daelkyr Construct Hit Dice: 8d10+30 (75 hp) Initiative: -1 Speed: 30 ft. (6 squares; can’t run), Climb 10ft. (2 squares) Armor Class: 18 (–1 size, +10 natural, -1 Dex), touch 8, flat-footed 19 Base Attack/Grapple: +6/+16 Attack: Slam +12 melee (3d6+9) or Claw +12 melee (2d6+6) Full Attack: Slam +12 melee (3d6+9) and 2 Claws +7 melee (2d6+6) Space/Reach: 10 ft./5 ft. Special Attacks: Claw Special Qualities: damage reduction 5/-, darkvision 60 ft., fast healing 2, construct traits Saves: Fort +2, Ref +2, Will +2 Abilities: Str 23, Dex 9, Con -, Int -, Wis 11, Cha 1 Skills: Climb +8 Feats: None Environment: Any Organization: None Challenge Rating: 7 Treasure: None Alignment: Neutral This large metal and flesh Daelkyr creation is built in the shape of a spider. With a skeleton of iron and muscle and sinew of several creatures this shambling creature is capable of causing massive damage. COMBAT Daelkyr need the direction of a aberration designated as its master to do anything except attack any non aberration that it detects. Claw: an Undead Juggernaut’s claw attacks have reach so it can attack up 10ft away. Fast Healing (Ex): An undead juggernaut heals 2 points of damage each round so long as it has at least 1 hit point. If reduced to 0 hit points in combat, it is destroyed normally. |

| UltimaGabe09-02-04, 04:38 PM | Uhm... how come the flat-foot AC is greater than its normal AC? Haha... Because he's got a negative Dex modifier, and he hasn't read the FAQ, of course! :-P Anyway, just one comment on the Daelkyr Juggernaut- it isn't doing enough damage, in my opinion, to be mentioned as being "capable of dealing massive damage". Bump up its strength by 10 or so. |

| Zagumus09-03-04, 11:26 AM | :bored: I am the DM. I realize it is my choice, I haveing trouble making it sound impressive. So I was hoping someone might be able to help with the description, or point out other descriptions some where on the net. The monster was only meant to be a reference for what my machine did. |

| WotC_Doog09-03-04, 01:46 PM | Anyone have a good ideas for what any Eldritch machines look like? I always picture eldritch machines as #1 huge, and #2 full of moving parts. Pistons chugging up and down. Bladders expanding and contracting. Electricity forking between charged spheres. Vials of liquid splashing about. Unexplained organic elements thrown in: organs that look like lungs or hearts, or eyes or mouths, glistening with an unsettling sheen. Tentacles wave and cilia wiggle. Waste byproducts might spew out of hoses or vents. There's a haze of smoke that may also contain cinders, or the feeling of static electricity, or a sulfurish scent. You can feel rather than hear a deep rhythmic thrum. Things rattle and cough and sputter, mouths gibber, and eyes roll. When the real action happens, there's a deafening cacophony as all the elements start to work in concert. The whole thing might get up and move, or start to rotate, or break open like a dragon egg. It might transform into some new form, or break into tons of moving parts, or self-assemble from many preexisting elements. A wind kicks up. There's a storm. The moons all line up. Animals flee the area. The earth rumbles. An awful sickly glow begins to emanate from the center of the thing. Beams of light pierce from its inner core. It sucks up all the energy out of the air -- bystanders feel strangely drawn to it, as if even gravity has been redirected to its center. And then -- KABOOM -- and it starts doing its thing, whatever awful thing it's supposed to do. Hope that helps. :twitch: |
