Electrum in Eberron [Archive] - Wizards Community

07-02-06, 06:31 PM At the end of our last gaming session one of our party members stumbled...literally...into a shaft in a cave we where exploring. after resucing him and searching the area we found a deposit of electrum. What would be the worth of electrum in Khorvaire? could it be minted?

07-02-06, 06:54 PM I'm no expert, so I could be wrong, but since electrum is an alloy of gold and silver it probably falls inbetween the two in terms of worth. So, since the price of unworked gold is 50gp/lb (see PHB pg 112) and that of silver is 5gp/lb, probably something is the region of 30gp/lb will get the job done.

07-03-06, 11:50 AM Back in the AD&D 2nd edition days, an electrum coin was worth half a gold coin, according to the Player's Handbook. Hope this helps.
