I have heard of some Pc programs that can actually "read and say" what you write in them; changing the voice with some controls to create diversity. I was thinking about using one of this programs to create the voice for the Npcs. What do ya think? Can someone point me out to where can i find one of this sysytems or the name at the very least?

the only one I am familiar with was one I used back when I had my Commodore 64. No matter what you did, the voice sounded robotic and totally deviod of any emotion whatsoever.

Might be good for a warforged.

I disagree, I don't think warforged speaks robotic or emotionless.

I typically use music and sound effects when I DM my games. Although not a 'voice' program, I use one called RPGSOUNDMIXER. With it and some sounds recorded with the Mic and other downloads, I tend to have a nice compliment of sounds to add to just about every encounter. I did try the voice thing once using a free program called FUNNY VOICE

but aside from really sinister sounding creatures, it doesn't make yuo sound any differenet if what you are loking for is say... change your voice into a female.

What I ended up doing is getting my kids involved and had them speak some lines which I then modulated to sound older or younger. If you got others willing to help out, then FUNNYVOICE would be good enough. Besides, it's rather funny!

BTW ... check out the RPGSOUNDMIXER if you do end up using voice or other sounds. http://www.rpgsoundmixer.com/
