I'm currious as to see if anyones got any ideas on putting anime mecha suits of armor into an Eberron campain. I was thinking something along the lines of the way they were presented in Escaflowne with the "Dragon Armor" and all that stuff. I have a campain all laid out for this already and am just curious as to see if anyone had any good ideas for game mechanics on the suits of armor themselves.

If you want to stay as close to Escaflowne as posable treat it as a graft suit of armor, with an ego rating. Treat the person wearing the armor, as the correctly sized creature. I would probly say huge.

Have said chr make a will/fort save to prevent the armor from taking contorl. Maybe make it a % of hp lose. Sort of like affected Lycanthropy when they are damaged to i bleave 1/2 or 1/4 hp left, they have to start making "contorl shape" checks to stay in contorl.

Ask the other people about the ego rating on items, I dont completely understand it.

There is a suit of armor just like this in the Epic Magic Items. size and str increase, etc...its basically a mecha suit.

Check out BESM D20. They even have an SRD online with their stuff, but the text files are a little hard to read.

Escaflowne itself was the only guymelef to really seem to have a will of its own as far as I can recall. Most of the strangeness probably had to do with Van being.... well what he is. Other guymelefs seemed to just be machines. Unless you are talking about the movie. I haven't seen that in a long long time.

This is one of the few things I'd actually put in Xen'Drik. I like my wierdness closer to home mostly, but select slaves of the Giants might have had these suits to better serve their masters and command the others. Sort of liasons between the masters and the slaves perhaps?

I was actually going to have several of them scattered across eberron as ancient artifacts from the age of dragons that were used by the mightiest of the heroes of the dragons to help fight off the demons ect... the suits themselves I was going to have been forged as eldritch machines created by some of the mightiest of the ancient dragons who gave there lives in the construction, actually making the suits from themselves so the Ego thing would work out really well. For game balance purposes I was going to only make them active and useable when they were within X distance of one another and that would make them primarily only useful against one another, seeing as how I would definitely not just give one to my players without first giving one to the bad guys for a little added motivation.
