Issue #2 of the Korranberg Chronicle is now live.

Read it at http://keen.datavortex.net

(our address has changed, made it a bit shorter for you guys)

Note: The Korranberg Chronicle is best viewed with IE v. 4.0 or higher.

Cheers,
Save-vs-DM

Looks like we did another good job!

I really think our writers are capturing the feeling and the art work....nice! :cloud9:

Just to let everyone know, we have a few new options - such as being able to print in "plain" or "fancy" and our 7-Day Forecast of Sharn, Fairhaven, Flamekeep, and Korranberg (we've got to keep Ms. Honeycakes happy, cause if she ain't happy - Keith ain't happy. And if Keith ain't happy....well, let's just say you don't want to see a hellish bovine ticked off.). :bounce:

Also, don't forget to watch the bottom of each "page" - if it says, for example, Page 2 - that means there are more articles to read! :whatsis:

Finally, a bit of personal advertising - if only because its the only column that is completely reader driven: The very first Ask Atgar advice column can be found under the Opinions page.

Alright, folks - get to reading and thanks for your time.

Yes great stuff again, good work!

The website format seems different than I remember from the first time (it seemed more "newspaperlike" before). What the scoop?

I am wondering if I don't have the font you are using on the site? I am pretty sure you are not using Ariel right?
...Might be the same thing Doppleganger is experiencing while viewing the site...

The font we use is Clairvaux (http://keen.datavortex.net/fonts/Clairvaux.zip) . I have embedded the font, but it only works for IE v. 4.0 or higher. The link above will allow you to install the font we use. Simply unzip it to your fonts folder, where it resides. If you see the fancy font, you don't need to download this.

If I send an email Ask Atgar asking somthing (i think is) specific to the campaign I'm playing will it just be disragared or will he try his best to answer?

I just wondering because I dont have the eberron book yet and dont know if what I want to ask is just somthing to do with my DMs campaign or in the book, I ordered it and its not comeing for another week.

Atgar will do his best to answer questions sent in, so yes, get your question written down and sent to him via the staff pop-up on the site.
Remember that questions are typically about the world of Eberron as it relates to PCs, and not especially rules-questions, unless these can be replied to in a 'roleplaying' manner.

Okay, since I'm Atgar of Sharn, I suppose I should answer this.

I plan on answering as many emails/questions as possible, with the hopes of maintaining as much of an "in-character" response as possible. However, as shown in the Mournland Healing question from Issue #2, I blended in a bit of Meta-gaming to the "in-character" answer. Hopefully, this trend will be the standard format and not come off sloppy.

As in Campaign-Specifc questions? Well, if you're not in my campaign, I can only do my best. I will answer the questions to the best of my ability, but you should all realize that each answer I give is from personal experience, opinion, research, and conclusions. I don't have the red phone to WotC or Mr. Baker , so my answers can't be considered canon - unless your DM says so. I know my DM thinks all my answers are canon, but that's just the kind of guy Peterson (er, me) is. ;)

Anyways, I must stress that the Ask Atgar column only works if I get questions/emails from you, the loyal readers. If you suddenly stop seeing the Ask Atgar column in the Korranberg Chronicle, its because people have stopped asking questions.

Thanks everybody for your time and interest - and remember, ask and you shall recieve. Ask Atgar, and you shall learn.

Atgar of Sharn

Just so that everyone's aware, we produce a new issue of the KC on a fortnightly basis, however in order to accomodate any fan-written 'freelance' articles and questions for Ask Atgar, make sure to send in anything you want to see incorporated into an issue well in advance.
...as our second issue's just gone live, you've all got about a week (until deadline) to send us your news from various quarters of Eberron.
...so send in your stuff and make the Korranberg Chronicle *your* favourite newspaper.

I love the Korranberg Chronicle, as it seems to really capture the setting of Eberron. I intend to both use it as adventuring ideas, as well as a possible hook, and advice for players tool that I could give them.

How much do you think in-world this would cost as a resource to the players? I wouldn't want to give them a paper like this for free, because it destroys the illusion of reality, but I'd like to keep it a reasonable price. I'm certain that they'd be willing to put forth anywhere from a silver to perhaps a gold for a publication such as this, and I'd enjoy having it as part of the world immersion.

Good job, and I wish the best of luck to you. If you are ever interested in another writer, give me a message, and I might just be able to do that for you.

*yawn* sorry, I'm tired, so I can't make a complete help, but there was a thread regarding this (I belevie Hc responded in it) naming a reasonable Sharn price as well as one for out-of-country.

I'm just too tired to do the search for you....

Teh standard price for the KC (in sharn at least) is 3cp. So you get slightly more than our 2 cents worth...

Would there be a conflict of interest (or legal) if the Eberron Muse wrote something for the Chronicle.

I sure there is more than just the weather that catches your fancy.
Pallis

Ha ha! Yep, we'd love to hear more of your trip to Sharn...though I should add that, on behalf of the Chronicle, we cannot be held responsible for any unforeseen changes in the weather over the next few days. So if you're expecting sunshine and find yourself in a torrential downpour, blame it on the manifest zone...

I'd be delighted! How about a gossip and fashion column? I'm sure there's lots of juicy stuff going on in Sharn high society that the country folk would love to sink their teeth into!

Wow...We get our own fashion column! Sweet!

Well, thanks to everyone who has commented on our great work. We hope to bring you quality articles every few weeks.

So thanks to everyone. And remember, if it happens in the Five Nations, you'll read about it in the Korranberg Chronicle!

Go Chronicle!

Holy Honeycakes! Here I thought I was Public Relations and then DVSMan snakes one of the big sign-ons of the decade out from under me! ;) Good job, DVS! Knew there was a reason I liked working with ya.

As for the Hellish Bovine's Better Half (not to mention Muse), I agree with DVS - we would be more than happy to have you writting for us. And a Fashion/Gossip column - by the Five Nations, that's good! Now my Half-Elf (who is really a Changeling) will finally know how to dress when posing as a Human member of the Cannith House, and can speak reliably about who's seeing who on the sly in the garden after midnight.....
