In a recent game of WotVB Grilsha on the crashing airship rolled 2 20s whit her dagger on a PC. We rolled on a homemade Crit Table for when someone rolls two 20s and he lost his eye. Now I have two questions...to what might this give penalties to and also in the World of Eberron what sort of arcane replacements might he find to allow him to see again?

The DMG (page 27) gives rules for damage to specific areas, including the effects of losing one eye.

I don't think there are any arcane solutions to the problem. When creating homemade Crit Tables, you have to create homemade solutions to the injuries.

I made a flaw for having only one eye you can find it Here (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=330050)

Hope it fits your needs.

Libris mortis has undead grafts, including a bodak eye that gives you death-gaze once/day. That's a fine replacement!

You know, I could see an arcane replacement in varying degrees.

One with normal vision.
One with low light vision.
One with darkvision.
One with all three + detect magic
One with all three + arcane sight.

The list goes on and on.

Cheers,

I don't know which book, it might be Faerun, but there's a blindfold that gives all the benefits of Blindsight while taking away all normal sight. Might be an interesting alternative to magical eye-patches and glass eyes...

Well, as of now he's using a mundane eyepatch, which is cool, because it gives him the 'Big Boss' thing from Metal Gear, and I think he'll most likely start searching for a replacement. I think I'll make a magiv item that grants him normal sight, or maybe darkvision (He already has lowlight), but also has a curse. An intellegent eyepatch?

Ooh, that's nice! :D

I can just imagine an eyepatch of DOOM with a thick Lhazaar (sp?) accent:

"Hey, kids! Are you ready for fun?"

"Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh...
"Who lives as a dragon below you and me?"
Khyber Drakeborn
"Evil and nasty, imprisoned is he!"
Khyber Drakeborn
"If noir-themed adventure is what you would seek,
Then roll a d20 all day for a week!"

Man, that's a sweet idea (Not the spongebob thing). It could be an eyepatch of a legendary Lhazaar(sp?) price, whose alignment dosen't completly conflict with the character, but is certainly different enough to be a comic nuiscence.
