| Trixten_The_Kender04-24-07, 07:30 PM | I just bought the adventure book on ebay and have yet to see it, but from everything I read it's going to be a great adventure. I am looking to bring together a group (I am the DM) and I hate just dropping them (friends or strangers alike) together (starting at 5th level I believe) and doing the "well, you met and have adventured before" cliche'. Any suggestions on a decent adventure (other than the original 3 that I have run TWICE) that would bring the group together and give me an example of how they work together? Something either downloadable or in a recent issue of Dungeon magazine would be prefered. I would normally write something myself, but life has become complicated and I don't have that much time anymore. Thanks in advance!!! |

I personally like a good "Murder in Oakbridge"/"Chimes at Midnight" one-two punch combo. Issues #129 and #133 of Dungeon respectively. Oakbridge is for fourth level PCs and Chimes is for 5th, but they easily be bumped down to 3rd and 4th level mods methinks. Before that, I dunno, there a lot of options. Queen with Burning Eyes, The Great Train Robbery, High Tension, Fallen (all from Dungeon). I really like Fallen a ton actually too. Oh, and I wrote "Chimes" so I'm totally biased on that one by the way!!! :) |

The blink dog skeletons took a huge amount of time since the only cleric in my group was a wizard going for Silver Pyromancer (1 level of cleric). Combined with no real blunt weapons and the combat took forever and sapped the energy from the players. If they don't have a cleric, consider tweaking this encounter a bit. |
