| Esotin Rex11-15-04, 08:05 PM | Well, I just finished reading through Keith's latest effort, "Fallen Angel." Overall I'm pleased with the adventure. A good story, though too short as always. It provided a fair amount of detail, fleshing out the district of Fallen (aka Godsgate). I had imagined the district as more deadly for such low level PC's though. Seems that one of the most dangerous districts in Sharn should have more than a few minor adverseries. It is always scalable of course. Any thoughts? |
| ChronosCrow11-16-04, 04:41 AM | Any thoughts? Yeah, we finally got a useful adventure out of Dungeon. I really disliked the first one that was some silly dungeon crawl. Ugh. I haven't gotten one since then b/c of it, but this Fallen Angel one was really nice. |

The queen with burning eyes was just a Minatures ploy. |
| Esotin Rex11-16-04, 11:57 AM | I agree that Steel Shadows was also really good. Like Fallen Angel, it brought an area of Sharn to life. I also liked its mystery plot, something you don't see very often. Insight into the Warforged community was also extremely welcome. Fallen Angel was on par with Steel Shadows, but much more of a straight dungeon crawl. Though both adventures certainly encourage PC's to take the Investigate feat. |
| Erred Knight11-16-04, 12:20 PM | And it doesn't conflict with the material in Sharn: City of Towers. You'll hate me for saying this, but I liked Queen of the Burning Eyes, even though it was a huuuuge minis pimp!! Thanks for the recommends on Steel Shadows guys, I'll have to check that one out. |
| Lujayne3411-16-04, 01:40 PM | I have enjoyed all the adventures for Eberron so far in Dungeon. I realize that many did not care for QwBE but really liked it. In my opinion it gave some "class" to the standard old dungeon romp. It was full of Eberron flavor. It introduced a Cult of the Dragon below and a few monsters associated with the daelkyr (dolgaunts and dolgrims). It also provided some sidebars on sections of the city. And in addition also provided a byesk made weapon. One that has serious implications for the ancient evil of the daelkyr. Fallen Angel was similar in that it provided info on a cult and info on sections of the city. |

| Erred Knight11-16-04, 04:11 PM | Dungeon #115 with the warforged model on the cover. Hope this helps Chronos. |

Well, you don't go too deeply into Fallen in the adventure -- it's just a general sense of what you might find when you stick your head in. There can certainly be worse things in the shadows. |
| WynnHuntr211-16-04, 11:24 PM | You never came through with what kind of stone the green stuff was K, from the Eberron Yahoogroups list. |
| Delazar12-12-04, 05:36 PM | Fallen Angel was quite easy, until the memelith charmed the dwarf (tank of the group) and he put almost all the group down! in the end, the monk managed to defeat the memelith, and they're luckily all alive actually, he didn't kill the possessed boy, but took him and the blink dog to a house vadalis enclave, were they tried to sell the dog House Vadalis refused to take also the boy, and now they want to take care of him... now, a question comes to my mind... is it possible to free the boy from the memelith? |
| Neofish12-12-04, 06:39 PM | I don't think so, see as how he was born with it, maybe a wish, or perhaps he learn to just control it with time. |
| Hellcow12-12-04, 08:35 PM | now, a question comes to my mind... is it possible to free the boy from the memelith? The boy is not possessed by a memelith - the boy is a memelith. It's an inherent trait that can't just be cured. Note that most of the memlith abilities are Extraordinary, not supernatural in nature; even sticking him in an antimagic field won't break the bond, though it will prevent him from using poltergeist abilities. It's also something that he's had since he was born (and most likely while he was in the womb); if you could find a way to cut him off from the memories of the fallen (such as a wish), the damage might already be done... and the sudden absence of the voices could be just as horrifying as the psychic tumult. On the other hand, technically the memelith is picking up the trace memories of people who have died in a particular area. If you find a place where few humanoid creatures have ever died (understanding that the memelith's ability extends a fair distance from the memelith itself - most likely at least a mile) you might be able to find a comfortable middle ground for the character - though I suspect that it would take years for a memelith to adjust to normal life. If you've ever read the comic "Rising Stars" (by the creator of Babylon Five), there's a character who can hear the dead, and the way that's presented is a very mild version of what the memelith is dealing with. Wherever there has been death (and with the entire course of history to draw from, that's most places), the memelith is constantly plagued by the voices of the fallen, demanding to be heard. |
| ThanisKartaleon12-12-04, 11:16 PM | I'm using the memelith as a kind of "curse" on one of my PCs. Wisdom penalty, Deflection bonus, touch of madness, inner turmoil and poltergeist phenomenon at +1 LA Immunities, Knowledge of the Dead, All Skills, and Charisma bonus at +2 |
| Delazar12-13-04, 07:08 AM | The boy is not possessed by a memelith - the boy is a memelith. i see... the fact is, now that they have him in chains, they find it difficult to just execute him... damn... how can i get rid of this thing now? maybe, the heroes think they have "cured" him, but he attacks them in the night, or runs away to come back at a later time... would this particular memelith try to go back to Fallen? |
| krappleby12-13-04, 09:20 AM | ive been trying to arrange a subscription to dungeon magazine for months, and months.. my biggest problem is i dont have time to go to the town, and i dont have a credit card to order online.. so im stuck.. i have always found the copies i do get hold of.. Once in a blue moon are great for me. anyone have any other ideas on how i can obtain them.. Cheers |
| helzapoppn12-13-04, 10:11 AM | I just finished running a party through Fallen Angel. Unfortunately, for the climactic encounter, only three of the six players attended, and those who were there with the ones most inclined to hack and slash. When the memelith went down, I had the Blink Dog with him spirit his unconscious form away. Overall, it was good. The nice thing about it is that it gets my PCs into Fallen...and now they can run across an encounter I created that will advance several of their personal storylines... :evillaugh |
| rdmaughan12-16-04, 07:17 AM | If you want to help a memelith recover, I would have thought the Spirit Shaman class out of CD might give them better control. |
