Joni-san 04-18-06, 03:04 PM	I was listening to the Secret of Mana* soundtrack and I thought that "Hey, this could be used in Eberron games." Nostalgia may have had a part but I think it's quite suitable for use in Eberron games. Other soundtracks I have found perfect for Eberron games are the Full Metal Alchemist OSTs, Pirates of the Carribean OST, Hellsing OST, LotR Trilogy OSTs, Indiana Jones OSTs, Hellboy OST. Do you have any other suitable Soundtracks for Eberron use? *Best SNES RPG ever!
paradox1995 04-18-06, 09:49 PM	the mummy and the mummy returns, dont like either movie but the sound tracks are perfect. Pirates of the carrebian is good too as is the official Eberron soundtrack.
Flack Jack 04-19-06, 12:16 AM	I personaly usr the sharn music. The cave track is pretty useful in a game called dungeons and dragons. Otherwise I have used the Halo 2 soundtrack in a pinch. The Earth City track rocks my socks off. I have additionaly considered using starwars music as I have an idea for a campaign a lot like attack of the clones with the Sarlonans as the clones.

It may not be on topic but I feel your disapointment with the mummy movies. Let me inform you all that Anubis is not a war god that extends the life of mortals. He's a less grim sort of reaper.

Splendide 04-19-06, 05:30 AM	Permutation - Amon Tobin Supermodified - Amon Tobin The Man With The Movie Camera - The Cinematic Orchestra I originally thought the Ocean's Eleven soundtrack would be good, and the music is great, but for some reason they decided to cut in a bunch of entirely unnecessary clips of dialogue from the film, rendering it useless. Argh. I know there exists a purely instrumental soundtrack for Romeo + Juliet, which would be a good get. If you're planning on running a campaign on the Talenta plains, you'd be silly not to consider the soundtrack to Lawrence of Arabia. Similarly, Doctor Zhivago would kick arse for Karrnath. Oh, also Enemy At The Gates music if its available.

I plan on running an adaptation of the Gambit at Dreadhold module for an upcoming DM's Mark (as I missed out on being able to run the adventure when it was available, but since a friend has the printed module...), and I plan on going for a jazz/swing selection of background music (the tracks Tank and Rush from the Cowboy Bebop OST come to mind for battles).

Hope you enjoy this stuff. It really has the exotic feel of Eberron, instead of Generic Action Movie Soundtrack #5314. Check out the previews and tell me what you think of the music. I think if I were to make an Eberron movie, I would use this sort of music, not John Williams' tripe. Note on Williams: Star Wars has an awesome soundtrack, but that just barely excuses the other indistinguishable soundtracks.
Brastan 04-19-06, 06:59 PM	I've been trying to build up my Jazz library(since I'm new to it) in advance of starting a new Eberron campaign this summer. I think tracks by Count Basie and Ella Fitzgerald make good city or traveling music. I also need to get a copy of the Seatbelts Cowboy Bebop OST work. Likewise for Soil & "Pimp" Sessions, which I think would make for great action music.

If you want some smoky jazz that's a bit less set in the twenties, try looking up say, Anita Kelsey who sang a couple of numbers in Dark City. The Night Has a Thousand Eyes is perfect for a Sharn mystery in soooo many ways. For slightly more dramatic music, try Phillip Glass. His score to the movie Dracula (the Bela Lugosi version), is the best music you could have for some nightmare journey through the Mror holds or any frozen lands. And (I post this every time that a thread comes up, though I don't know if anyone has ever taken me up on this), look for a scandinavian band called Hedningarna (the Heretics) for some incredibly atmospheric and wild music. The track Pornopolka would be wonderful for a Valenar revel. Sereno - Have been listening to the stuff by Matti Palaanen. Very good catch. Thanks!
Gilgiga of the Hunt 05-07-06, 12:02 AM	We've been using a more or less random mix of pop music to create what the sharn soundtrack. The bulk of it seem to be the more dark songs prduced by the Planet Smashers, some Rockablity groups, and a couple of the 90s Swing Revival Bands. Fast paced, often dark, brassy and modern. Creates a good style mesh with Eberron I also keep a playlist of more agresive music (mostly punk) on my laptop. I klick off the stero and flick up iTunes when I feel the mood needs to shift.
