| lowendz11305-31-05, 06:31 PM | Alright I was wondering about the 3 item creation feats they have listed, Exceptional Artisan, Extraordinary Artisan and Legendary Artisan. It says that you can take these feat multipule times and their effects stack. So how exactly does that work? Can you take the feat 4 times and be able to craft items for free? Or do you get 25% off your previous 25%? Or is there an errata flouting around out there that fixes the issue? |
| Just another user05-31-05, 06:38 PM | there is an errata. :D The feats can be taken only once now |
| lowendz11305-31-05, 06:41 PM | well I suppose that solves the problem then dosnt it hehe. |
| Ibbins05-31-05, 08:44 PM | Well that ain't too cool. Consider 4 of any one of those... Make an item for 0 exp cost. Make an item for free. Or most spectacular: make an item instantly! Whoa! |
| anarco_rata05-31-05, 11:11 PM | I would play an artificer and become filthy rich if that where true...in a ouple months i could probably buy Sharn and name it after myself ^^ |
| Edymnion05-31-05, 11:29 PM | Actually, even if you do let them be taken multiple times, they aren't game breaking. Remember, each one modifies the base cost. Which means after you take one the first time, you're down to 75% normal. You take it again, it takes off another 25%, but not from the original, but the current. Which is only going to be an 18.75% decrease, meaning it goes down to 56.25%. Third time is 25% of 56.25%, or a reduction of only 14.0625%, for a total of 42.1875%. Fourth time would be 25% of 42.1875%, which would be 10.546875% reduction, for a total of 31.640625%. In other words, its the law of diminishing returns. The more you take it, the less you get out of it. You'll never get it down to 0%, and you would have to spend 4 out of your 7 feats just to get it down to 1/3rd of normal. And really, if you're going to spend every feat you get to knock it down to about 25% of normal time overall, thats fine with me. Because you're going to royaly suck at everything else you do. |
| anarco_rata05-31-05, 11:38 PM | I could've ruled it that way too in my adventures, but i found the errata, but the need to correct the feat only shows that the players where using it the way lowendz thougth. Still...buying Sharn would've been really fun. |
