| BOK210-13-04, 09:55 AM | I'm just starting my new character. Can you suggest any name that suite a female shifter? thanks :) |
| Hanuman4710-13-04, 11:36 AM | EDIT: I AM AN IDIOT AND APPARENTLY INCAPABLE OF READING The suggestions below are for changelings while the thread starter is asking about shifters. D'oh![/EDIT] The changelings' gender ambiguity extends to names - the ones listed in the book (Bin, Dox, Fie, Hars, Jin, Lam, Nit, Paik, Rous, Ruz, Sim, Tam, Toox, Yug) will work for males or females. A few more suggestions: Am, Bas, Donu, Fal, Gos, Hib, Juk, Kef, Lal, Mim, Nolu, Pel, Rafu, Sam, Tol, Ulo, Vam, Weena, Yre, Zuna |

Try normal human names but use lots of hard sounds (d, t, k, etc) for that "rustic" feel. Personally, IMC shifters are more 'exotic' than 'rustic' (they're also a lot prettier :P) so my NPC's probably won't be much help here. |
| Kaverael10-13-04, 01:13 PM | Try to incorporate some of the animal traits your character possesses. My female shifter rogue is named Pantera because she is very cat-like. |
| THE_VESPER10-15-04, 03:12 AM | Hmm! this is my first time to reply to a thread, so i'll make it simple. Examples of shifter names for female characters: Ursa Fox Lyca Felicia Stripe Sickle Cinderpaw Nighteyes Moonkiss Pounce Kibble Catnip Nekochan it all depends on what type of mammal you are emulating. hope this helps! |
| Splendide10-15-04, 03:17 AM | Anne Susan Caroline Janice Alice Grace Mary Harmony Clementine Dorothy Beatrice Cecily Faith Hope Charity Emma Amelia Constance Dora Felicity Georgina Hester Catherine Ingrid Elisabeth Margaret |
| ThanisKartaleon10-15-04, 04:28 AM | Adai, Amiya, Asha, Bida, Brogan, Brylea, Cydee, Delen, Eithne, Eunae, Farida, Galina, Ha'an, Harmonn, Ilima, Jerrine, Kayani, Keala, Kerah, Kiya, Leda, Odilia, Rangi, Sagan, Sage, Serenade, Talasi, Tana, Vadra, Viveca, Xanthe, Yoana. That should do it. I always google up names when I can't think of any. Use search terms like "gothic", "rustic", "faerie", "fantasy", "[insert iconic fantasy race here]" in combination with "name". Never fails. |

| Xeraph11-30-04, 04:20 PM | I like warforged to have metallic-sounding names, too. That's why my warforged fighter is named Metallica. And my Tiefling is named Incubus. |

| Edymnion11-30-04, 07:11 PM | Well, they're supposed to have rustic, country sounding names, so: Dorothy Edith Omie Joe Betty Nelly Josephina Although, I personally broke with that convention named named my Female Razorclaw trait Shifter Elyse. Named after my favorite 2e Half-Tabaxi/Elf Bard. |
| MarkB11-30-04, 07:36 PM | Anything apart from Wolverina. :P |
| EvilDuck12-14-04, 08:22 AM | And my Tiefling is named Incubus. Yeah, I've got a character named Michael Jackson, but I'm not sure if he/she's an elf or a dwarf. All I know is he/she's been leveling in Acolyte of the Skin... |
| qwykee12-14-04, 09:22 AM | Anything apart from Wolverina. :P Don't forget Loganna. ;) |
| Gez12-14-04, 11:37 AM | I've a necropolitan named Sepultura. And a Bladeling known as The Iron Maiden. And my gnome shipwright, named Led Zeppelin. And that dwarf blackguard called Fell Hammer. :P |
| Flack Jack12-14-04, 12:04 PM | When I had a fem-shifter her name was Yote as in coyote. Her middle name was actualy Cannith thanks to her human heritage. And Handtashe (German for purse) was her last name. |
