I've just read the first two chapters in Eberron and I am really looking forward to getting it up and running. I really enjoyed the passage on divine magic and how the churches are corrupt.

So far the group wants to be:
Warforged fighter/barbarion
Dwarf/Human artificer
Gnome/Half Elf bard
Gnome illusionist

I hope I can get it read in time and understand some of the new mechanics.

Welcome to Eberron, fellow player! We hope you love this setting as much as we do, and hope you will join us here at the boards regularly. Feel free to ask questions, and do please tell us of your campaign's progress if you feel the urge to tell all.

In the meantime, I direct you to the Dragonshards (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/archeb/ds) articles, written by Keith Baker (who goes by Hellcow on these boards) himself! If you haven't already done so, read through them, especially the ones on races. I assure you it is worth it.

If you find yourself beset with questions and dilemmas, we are quite happy to help in whatever capacity possible over the medium of the internet. And if you desire the wisdom of Hellcow, there is a thread stickied at the top of this forum. Keith answers questions for free as his workload permits, so don't hesitate to ask a knotty question if you have one!

I'll leave you to curl up with your ECS book now. ;)

New to Eberron, eh? Word of warning, beware warforged fighters at first level. They can start with the built-in equivalent of adamantine fullplate and immunities not normally achievable until higher levels. It's difficult to keep the combat interesting for both them and the more non-combative characters due to the massive power divide. On the other hand, since they can be so powerful, they let the rest of the party safely play classes that dont become effective until later levels. After playing our first game, we ran my first Eberron character, a warforged soldier named Wage, alone through a level 1 adventure. AC22, 14 hitpoints, damage reduction 2; he barely took a scratch. They do even out after awhile, though, and are quite fun to roleplay.

City of Towers is a great recource. I recommend to begin your campaign with the forgotten forge. Its the last chapter in the ECS. I started around July this year (with Eberron. i've been playing about two years). Its a very easy adventure to get the campaign off the ground with. My groups PCs are a half-elf druid, an elven paladin, a shifter ranger and a halfling rogue. The adventure went extremely well. Good luck and keep me updated. I would like to hear the stories of your campaign unfold.
("Can I sell it? Can I shoot it? Ahhh... It's useless." -Rei the Shifter, one of my groups beloved PCs.)
Feel free to PM me. In fact please do. Also, I would like to extend to you, Krevon, an invitation to my newly born forums, the D&D Unlimited Play Foundation (http://dndupf.9.forumer.com/index.php). I know the majority of us there play Eberron.
Have fun,
Tsukasa-kun
PS. In reference to the quote above, be sure to keep the campaign on track, but let the players in the group be their PCs. Its really fun... especially in Eberron.
